. Relais de Charme Il Sogno di Giulietta of Gabbia de Oro

by MSLIV

I am debating on which of these 2 hotels I should stay in. Have any one stayed in either and could PLEASE give me some feed back of the pros and cons.
Or have you stayed in one of them and could tell me something about them
THANK YOU.

Have you checked with www.tripadvisor.com? The reviews there are usually very helpful in making hotel decisions. Hopefully, they'll have some for those 2 hotels.

Actually, there are a few reviews of Gabbia d'Oro from VT users, too:

AND the TA reviews are readable just below..

Sogno di Giuletta is relatively new: look at TA (but you did already....)

IMO, Gabbia D'Oro is an excellent choice.
I've stayed there several times, and am happy to recommend it.

i recommend l'ospite with the most gracious host federica derossi - info@l'ospite.com. please tell her that you know me -dan cardone - it is not always about the place you stay but the people you meet- she is memorable and will go way above and beyond to make your visit to verona a great one - and i have kept coming back to just see her!

Travel Tips for Verona

Verona Card: the best way to enjoy Verona!

by Jefie

One of the things we didn't like about Florence was that it seemed we always had our hands in our pockets because everywhere we went we had to pay an entry fee. It sure wasn't the case in Verona! The first thing we did when we got there was to buy a Verona Card - for only 15 Euros (we got the 3-day pass, there's also a 1-day pass available for 10 Euros), the card gave us access to practically all of the city's museums. This was great because some of the museums, like Juliet's house for example, are not very big but still enjoyable to visit. I'm not sure I would have been willing to pay the entry fee just to have my picture taken on Juliet's balcony but since I had the Verona card, I got to do it AND got to send an e-mail to Juliet ;o)

Walk from Piaza Bra with the...

by ellenron

Walk from Piaza Bra with the Roman Arena through the elegant Via Mazzini street with its expensive shops to the beautiful Piazza delle Erbe which is surrounded by palaces. Continue walking through the Arco della Costa with the whale's rib that's suspended from the arch. If the rib falls on your head, you'll be happy to know that according to the legend you'll be the first 'just' person to walk beneath it. You'll reach the Arche Scaligeri - the tombs della Scala family.
Return to the Piazza delle Erbe and walk along Via Cappello to number 23 - Casa di Giulietta. You can see the statues of the two lovers, and if you rub your hand over the left breast of Juliet, you might find a new lover. It didn't work for me :-( .

Ponte Nuovo

by Azhut

Just a bit out of the centre of Verona but not too distant stands Ponte Nuovo. From there you can look at Castelvecchio built by Cangrande II on the top of the hills that surrounded the town. The castle was a fortress and a guarantee of escape. The construction of the castle began around 1354 and Cangrande II lived there only for 5 years; in 1359 he was killed by several assassins, aid by his brother Cansignorio, who took the dominion of Verona

Just a view looking back to St. Giorgio with some of the old city walls battlements in the foreground. Beside these battlements was a whole collection of cats. We don't think they were stray or wild, they were in such good condition. But there were about 8 or 9 cats just lying and playing together. Cute :-)

Poor Giuletta's breast touched by the tourists

by globetrott

It is a pity, we came too late to the gate of Casa di Giulietta, but at least we could take a look through the fence :
During the day thousands , mainly male tourists are trying to touch the right breast of the statue of Giuletta and get a photo as well while doing so.
Look at this statue, that is completely cleaned by all of these touches, while the face is almost black.
It is ment for good luck and ever-lasting love...
There is NO guarantee, but maybe it will work, so why not trying yourself.
During the day you may hardly ever find a quiet moment inside that lovely innercourt with the famous balcony and the statue of Juliet.
