Is there a bus route map of Verona?
by ray_fb
I'm looking at the bus timetable at http://www.apt.vr.it/orari/index_orari.html
but have difficulty figuring out which route goes where. Is there a map showing the route somewhere?
We will be staying near the intersection of Via Eugenio Curiel and Via San Marco. Which buses go past this area and where are the stops? Which one to go to the arena? We are planning to go to the opera.
Thanks,
Raymond

I picked one up at the tourist info center when I was there. I work a lot with maps and this one was pretty much incomprehensible and the font was so small as to be practically unreadable. I wish you luck.

The problem is that you are looking at the website for the province of Verona, not the city of Verona. The province is typically the same name as the major city in the area, but includes suburbs and a lot of outlying areas.
http://www.atv.verona.it/flex/cm/pages/ServeBLOB.php/L/IT/IDPagina/244
has a list of the urban lines for the city of Verona, but only in Italian. If you click on "mappa linee feriali (326.39 KB)", you'll get a map of the bus lines on weekdays and Saturdays. If you click on "mappa linee serali e festive (279.05 KB)", you'll get the map on Sundays and holidays.
Clicking on " ORARIO INVERNALE" will give you each line by number, with a list of stops...I'd have to go look to see what runs by your location, or maybe Francesco (effeti) will join us (he lives in Verona)...

Thank you very much for pointing out I'm mixing up the Verona province with the Verona city. It makes sense now.
The web page you gave is very useful.
I think route 13 goes by the place we'll be staying.
Grazie. :-)

Travel Tips for Verona
MERAN
This picturesque town...
by LysDor
MERAN
This picturesque town is located at the border of Austria and is known to have been among the first THERMAL BATHs' resort (19th century) of its kind. This fashionable Kurbad soon became the meeting place of the European nobility.
It's very green with a lot parcs and romantic bridges over the river *Adige* cooling the town marvellously making it perfect to have long walks during hot summer days. Really an idyllic place - not Italian-like at all!
But if you need to relax, it's very quiet and sereine! Ask for the famous Meran grape cure.
Roman Verona

Adjacent to the Castelvecchio is the Arco dei Gavi, built in the 1st century AD. Originally on the Via Postumia, it was restored at its present location in 1933. Unusual for Roman era triumphal arches, this one was dedicated to a private citizen and built with 2 facades.
Castelvecchio Museum
by sandysmith
The entrance to the Castelvecchio art museum is in the courtyard - a very pleasant area. There are some huge art exhibits - you have to pass through all the rooms as you can only go in one direction. There is a custodian in each room only too keen to direct you in the right. I found this out when I wanted to make a quick exit, the way I entered, to meet Pollon and I wasn't allowed:-S
Giardino Giusti
by croisbeauty
This is famous Goethe's spot under the huge cypress which offers enormous shadow in the hot summer days.
The garden was visited and celebrated throughout the ages by illustrious historical and cultural figures, among them Cosimo De' Medici, Addison, the Emperor Joseph II, Goethe, Mozart.
San Zeno - Oratorio di San Benedetto
by croisbeauty
On the other side of the Basilica stands the red 12th century tower of the ancient monastery mentioned by Dante in Canto 18 of his "Purgatory".
The early building underwent some changes in the 6th century, and some historians think the chapel of San Benedetto, still to be seen in the cloister, to be part of this early church.
On the left side of the picture there is a charming open shrine with piers and columns projects from one of the sides of the cloister, which also houses stone fragments and tombs.
