In a world of indentikit hotels - in the 3-star category above all - the Due Mori is a bit special. The hotel is housed in a historic building and has managed to be both airy and modern and keep a sense of its old character. As I was staying with a group of five, I saw a few rooms. Each room is decorated, simply and tastefully, in its own style with different pieces of furniture. Bathrooms are modern.
Due Mori is classed as a 3-star, and I think this is mainly to do with amenities - there was no TV or bath in our room. Otherwise, I would say this feels a lot more like a 4-star hotel. So, if you'd like a little character and comfort for a reasonable price, this is a good option.
Staff in the hotel were all pleasant and helpful, and the location is perfect for eating out and seeing all Vicenza has to offer. It would be great for a romantic break. Overall, a really memorable hotel.
*Make sure, if you book, that the hotel is the one in Vicenza. There is another Due Mori with very similar characterstics elsewhere in the Veneto (Marostica), so don't get them confused!
Unique Quality: Individual touches in the rooms and around the hotel make it a special place to stay. The Due Mori feels very much of its place and for that reason I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Vicenza.
Of course I didn't stay here myself, but I lived right across the street from it. It's right in the city centre, affordable and very very nice. Small, friendly and well kept. The facade is very nice too, with the two mores lighted up in the evenings!
