Sarem hotel: Sarem hotel

by littlebush

A self catering hotel, for budget travellers, but better than i thought.
rooms have kitchenette so you can cook for yourself.
rooms are clean and come with tea making facilities, a decent kitchenette, incl microwave and 2 hobs.
rooms are not serviced unless asked to do so at a cost.
parking is £5 per day.
its about a 10min max walk to the centre so location is great.
they have pool tables and a lounge area to chill out with tv's.
at £60/night, it was good value for money compared to other places in town.

oh yeah, it has a pool too but the weather we had meant it was out of bounds.

oh and it does have a bar too and you can pay for breaky too.

The Savoy St Helier: Comfortable Cosy Four Star

by Mooglosaurus

This hotel is well worth its four stars. The staff is discrete, friendly and helpful, the rooms are impecable, the location quite ok (15 minute walk from town center).

On the down sides
- wifi not quite as good in all the rooms, I had to go to the lobby with my netbook
- breakfast room is a real downer, have your breakfast served in your room. It's cheap but way more pleasant

When my bathroom door was open, I could see the television. What joy to bathe while watching telly ^^
Delivery of breakfast in the room is encouraged (very cheap) and the service is perfect
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, attentive to any query

Bleu Soleil: Poor Campsite

by whirlwindb

First impressions....This wasn't good, the grass was long the pitches were uneven and the whole camp site seemed neglected.
As there wasn't many people staying we were shown various areas where we could set up. As we had a dog we preferred to be around the edge with some shelter for him. There was a large 6 berth and a 4 berth erected tent next to us which we were told didn't have anyone staying in until next week so the location was ideal. Unfortunately this wasn't the case and four adults and 6 kids moved into them with a large Alsatian which didn't best please us.
The site has 4 toilets and 4 showers for each sex, that's it! I would imagine these would get very busy at the height of the season and the queues would be very long.
The owners David and Leslie seem to be most helpful and promise lots of things that they can't actually supply. The unoccupied tents for one, also we asked where we could let our dog off for a run, we were told in the field next door, only to be apprehended by the owner of the field and stated no such rights had been granted.
People were arriving while we were there and they didn’t seem to have any plans of what tents they had available. It seemed to be a shambles and be like a Faulty Towers of campsites.
Would we be going back to Blue Soleil? Not if there are other campsites on Jersey.
Would we recommend it to anyone else? Definitely not

de Normandie Havre des Pas St Saviors St Helier: Adequate Hotel Handy Positioin New Management

by droscar

Recently had 5 nights here 20/25 March. Were aware of mixed reports but noted refurbish going on quietly under the new management. Wanted sea view and got it at front (recommended). Room was clean and ensuite new. Being out of season it was almost empty and only evening bar meals available but plenty of choices 11-15 mins away on way into town. .Local bus passes hoteel regularly. Breakfast buffet plus full breakfast same each day but fine. Given some attention to outside and some flowers for the season its worth considering as they are clearly trying hard . Of course........ spend 2x more..........- you get more that's life! It was handy for long walks down a quiet beach (in March) up to green island Corner shop, pub, beach access and beach cafe just across road. Maybe could be noisy in the season with a pub opposite and on a busy road - need to look out for postings on VT or Tripadvisor.

Sea view. Pool. Clean. Easy walk or local bus to downtown. Pleasant park (Howard Davis) 5 mins away Easy beach access opposite

Beachcombers Hotel: Beachcombers Hotel

by jo104

If you are looking for a hotel to stay in that has a friendly vibe, very pleasent staff and an extremely convenient location then booking your stay at Beachcombers is a must.

In the summer there is an outdoor heated swimming pool where the kids can swim whilst you relax on a sunlounger or if you are feeling particularly energetic perhaps play a game of tennis.

The location we found perfect as in winter there is a restricted nightly bus service and we were well placed in the transport zone for travelling into St Hellier, whilst still being situated on a quiet road in a rural location. In fact you are a few minutes walk away from the sandy Grouville bay & the Royal Jersey golf club. For nature lovers the hotel is near the reservoir of Queens valley. Also within walking distance is Gorey village to admire the Jersey Potteries and also the historic Mont Orgueil Castle which is in Gorey harbour.

The breakfast buffet is quite a spread and I certainly had eyes bigger then my stomach it set me up nicely for the active day that lay ahead. We did not have an evening meal here but the menu looked scrumptious and after chatting with guests staying on half board they highly recommended the 3 course dinner.

The staff were friendly and accomodating and as a guest you feel warm and valued not just a room number as is the case in some hotels.

So do give James a call and he will sort out any of your requirements for making your Jersey stay a pleasurable one.

Hotel de Normandie: In need of a facelift, but still clean & comfy

by flyer_e901

Don't expect any luxury from this hotel, but it is clean & comfortable. The rooms will remind you of someone parents' house that hasn't been renovated in 20 years. Nothing wrong with that. The staff was friendly and accomodating. When I checked in, I was assigned to an apartment in a separate building from the hotel. The room was quiet except during the morning rush hours when motorcycles zoomed by on their way to St. Helier. If you're having breakfast at the hotel restaurant, there's a wide variety of food: sausage, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, cereal, toast, milk, juices.

The parking lot of the hotel is small. So if you are bringing a car, parking might not be easy. Walking to the centre of town takes about 10 - 15 mins depending how fast you walk. I tried to avoid the tunnel along La Route du Fort during rush hour as the car exhaust is quite bad. I normally walked through one of the parking lots heading north towards the centre of town. If you decide to take public transit, catch bus #18 just across the street from the hotel.

Pomme d'Or: Convenient hotel in the centre of St Hellier

by carteki

This is a 4* hotel in the centre for St. Helier, just opposite Liberation Square. The accommodation was very nice (although there was no fridge in the room). The room rate included a large buffet breakfast and thre is a little cafe downstairs that had really great meals. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms came with wireless and cable internet.

Jersey Tourism Accommodation desk: Great service

by ATLC

What I do remember from our visit in 1991 quite clearly is the amazing service at the Tourist Office. Once we got off the ferry, we went there, rented a car easily (see transportation tip), and booked a B&B on the spot. We made a tiny down payment which was later deducted from our bill. So this is actually what I would advice you to do if you come to Jersey on a whim !

These days the same service can be easily done online. See for that the link below.

Cornwallis Private Hotel: Don't think it exists anymore

by ATLC

I cannot find this rather large B&B on the internet and suspect it doesn't exist anymore.
However, the seaside road called Havre-des-Pas is rife with accommodation.

Click on the link below for a list of B&B's in St. Helier, Jersey.
