Hotel Rakari: Nature hotel

Its a wonderful hotel surrounded by nature. The beach is a few hundred meters away.
It is located a peaceful and fresh environment.

Country design. Independent house hotels. Nice garden and peaceful forests and a pastoral environment. Friendly staff.

Europe Royal Riga: Old but beautiful

It has very historical building. I am happy that I stayed there.

Dodo Hotel: Budget accommodation

Try Dodo Hotel.

Nice, new hotel, not far from the Zeppelin hangars of the Main markets.

It's only a few stops via the tram, max 10 minute ride, a single ticket costs 0.50lats.

The area is quiet, not great looking, but it's a good hotel, all very clean & new.

Right opposite the tram stop.

Gently people who will do everything to make you confertable.
There are 4 rooms in the building who was before a restaurant.
You can use the barbeque and teh saunahouse(on comment) in the garden.
Its an rest point near the very busy Riga.

Tranquility,hospitality and near the river daugava(25m),dreaming,sleeping in a world of silence.
Directily on a road to Riga and all of the rest to visiting.

Radi Un Druagi: 6 nights at the Radi

6 nights over New years 06/07 , was well looked after, clean towels and sheets every day, only made breakfast once but was able to make sandwiches for days lunch. staff were very helpful and after 2nd day remembered room numbers even if we were in no state to.
I was on the front of the new bit and with window open could hear a bit of nightclub noise across street but wasnt too bad, maybe summer will be different.
They never questioned my girlfriend once although she didnt try for breakfast.

was very happy with stay and will recommend it to most peps. maybe not family or elderly but average travellers that have grown out of hostels will love it here.

was only 47/49 lvl per day so well cheap.
I'll be back in feb for 4 nights so staying here

Riga Backpackers: Cheap, comfortable, in the heart of the old town

Check out the website, its a brilliant wee place set on the fourth floor of a huge old bulding, there was 3 of us and wee had a 6 bed dorm to ourselves. Get off the bus from the airport as soon as it crosses the bridge into the old tow, the hostel is located just up an alley from the first stop over the bridge. The hostels manager - tanya is stunning and it is right next door to the dickens, british pub and within walking distance to anywhere in the old town/. you can do what you want in this hostel, drink, smoke, whatever. We visited in january so it was lovely and quiet, and i think you see the real baltics at this time of the year.... it was -35 centrigrade. I MEAN IT!

Radi un draugi: Cheap and nice hotel in old town

We have been there twice,and I belive we´ll go there again,if we go to Riga again.(There´s cheap Ryanair-flights from Tampere to Riga)Staff is friendly and speaks English(it isn´t allways so in Riga).I couldn´t find any other so nice hotel,same price and so good location.They don´t use any hotelbooking-service,so you need to contact them by e-mail,from their website.
Breakfast is little strange,some of my friends have liked it,we didn´t so much,but we could eat bread and cheese with coffee or tea-at least something.(Allmost everything else lays on vinegar).Hotel and rooms are very clean.

You can order a taxi by them,and it´s little cheaper then.They are waiting you with a sign in airport.
Part of their yield goes to help streetchildren.(Room price was 67 euros by night for a double)

Hotel Jurnieks: Stay away!!!

Traveler beware: stay away from this hotel! We booked a triple room for 1 night in June 2006 and it was the worst experience we've ever encountered out of all of the hotels we have ever stayed. The receptionist was extremely rude, allowing other customers to interrupt while she was checking us in but when we interjected; she ignored us completely. A "triple" room is a very tiny twin room with an extra bed full of dust. There was barely any room for the third filthy bed, we had to block our only entrance to the room for the extra bed. This is a fire hazard and if there had been a fire, we would have been in grave danger. They delivered the extra bed while we were out and left the bed outside our door because even they couldn't figure out where to put it. The hotel is located in a shady neighborhood where homeless people wander the streets. The bedsheets don't cover the entire bed and the sheets look and feel filthy. The bathrooms are also beyond filthy, the shower head was full of mold and the shower head arm fell apart while one of us was in the shower. Also other guests treated us like dirt when cutting in line and when we spoke up that we were also hotel guests, the other guests responded that they were more important - the receptionist ignored us and helped her choice of guest. Kids were running around playing tag in the hallway and elevator making our tiny room shake until 3 AM. Dogs were barking in the middle of the night, people were constantly yelling or loud vehicles would drive by, allowing us to sleep no more than 10 minutes at a time. Stay away from Hotel Jurnierks

Centra: Very good hotel

We stay for 8 nights in hotel Centra. Perfect place in the old town!

Very clean and the crowd is very friendly. Breakfast is also good. This hotel is situated op a perfect place.

Q: From Autoosta to Lidosta! (from bus station to aurport) "Sveiki! I need an advice. my departure from Riga airport at 11.30, but bus arrived (internetional, from belarus) only at 8.10...."

A: "You should have no problem. Yes, traffic can be bad, but by 0900 it seems to clear out. I used Municipal bus and as I recall, it took about 30 minutes from the stop near..."
