dodo hotel in riga, it is situated in the little run down part of riga, but a cool 5 min tram ride to old town, the only problem is at night if u miss the last tram, do not walk back..take a taxi!!
a little expensive, but clean and friendly staff!
i would definitly stay there again! :)

Check in was very quick and efficient (I paid in advance so I just had to sign the guest card and pick up the keys). Room is small but very well designed, and with warm colors. I liked the amenities (flat TV, free WIFI and even one hairdryer). All very clean.
The breakfast was great, nice pancakes. Location is ok, not far from center.
Price is really great for Riga. I would recommend to anyone on a budget looking for a nice place.
Unique Quality: Very cheap price, well designed room, efficient staff!

Try Dodo Hotel.
Nice, new hotel, not far from the Zeppelin hangars of the Main markets.
It's only a few stops via the tram, max 10 minute ride, a single ticket costs 0.50lats.
The area is quiet, not great looking, but it's a good hotel, all very clean & new. Right opposite the tram stop.
Hi, we are planning to stay 1 night in Riga, arriving at 5 pm, 13 June, and leaving next day 11.5 am, does anybody have any suggestions about where to visit, or which area is better to book a hotel?
I would be thankful if anybody recommend us what are the must sees or amazing places in Riga.
For a short stay I would recommend staying in old town and just have a walk around. For hotel suggestions it would be good to know your approximate budget and number of persons staying.

If you do not mind a tram ride I could agree with Durfun advice. I have not been in Dodo hotel myself, still from what I know it may be the best value for your money. You can check yourself: http://www.dodohotel.lv/en/index.html
