budget hostel
Good value friendly staff basic room but clean shared kitchen and bathroom. It was good to have the use of kitchen with microwave and we had good bathroom facilities plenty of showers only cost us 108 lats for 5 nights. free internet. The stay was good and id recomend it to anyone on a budget. Views from window wernt good but unless you pay for a good view you dont expect it. Our hostel was central to all shopping centres and tourist attractions as well as the station both bus and train.

Go if you like mould and broken beds!
Located in a dark side street with dodgy characters hanging around I would not recommend this for any single women. The entrance smells of urine, the place is dirty, beds are uncomfortable and unsafe, showers dirty, mouldy. One towel for two people in the room, the room looked out onto the post sorting office so loud at the morning. people staying in the hostel were noisy standing outside and drinking.

I would not recommend staying here.
Unique Quality: mould cultures so good for someone interested in mould, outstanding characteristic of urine smelling entrance!

A great hostel in Riga
Great location. Situated near the train and busstation. The rooms were nice. The bathroom was shared.
Good value for your money.

Well located, Friendly and Inexpensive
We stayed at Elizabeth's Hostal which is very well located and only a five minute walk from the Railway Station, another couple of minutes from the International Bus Station and about a 10 minute walk to the centre of the Old Town.
Unique Quality: We block booked a 10 bedded dormitory on the internet and Everything was as described.

Hostel in very central location
I stayed there in late April (off season), comment maybe different during the peak seasons.
Pro: (1) very central location on a somehow quiet street next to the train station. (2) Guarded Parking right outside the hostel (LVL3 for overnite). (3) clean and power shower.
Cons: (1) the rooms are dirty, very dirty that you dont wanna put your bag on the floor. (2) the beds are too soft to sleep on, I had a backache after my 2 night stay. (3) the receptionists speak absolutely no English and the universal body language doesnt help. need to call the ower (manager) if you have further question and she isnt very helpful neither but she speaks English.

Cheap and clean hostel in the center of Riga
We stayed in this cheap hostel for two nights in a dorm for 14 people. The rooms are very clean as well as the bathrooms and showers. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location, great welcome and very nice, clean and safe atmosphere. I'd recommend this to all budget travellers!
