Riga's Stag Centre
We stayed for two nights; most of us on our first visit to the country. The other clientelle, at least while we were there, seemed to be entirely made up of stag parties (which, to be fair, was why were there also). But there are stag parties and there are stag parties, and the worst thing about the accommodation was the shocking behaviour of some of the other (British) guests. The rooms were relatively clean and well-maintained. The staff were for the most part friendly and helpful, if not understandably a little stag-weary at times. The hostel bar is open 24 hours; the beer it serves is nice enough although there's only one type and various other drinks, and the prices are about as extortionate as anywhere else in the city. There is a safe to lock away valuables, although getting access to them in a hurry can be difficult due to the sometimes chaotic check-in/check-out process. Frank organised cabs to get us to and from the airport without having to pay the price of a small country or getting our knee-caps shot off, which was very nice of him we think.
Unique Quality: There are no curfews, a 24 hour bar, friendly advice on tap, organised trips to clubs and bars on each evening of the weekend, and also the option of shooting AK-47s in a former soviet bunker. The last option is expensive however, working out at around two English pounds per bullet fired...

Directly after the river and the stone bridge.
I stayed here two nights in a room of fourteen people. No problem at all. The service was all right. They used young people as workers and it seemed they worked after a book sometimes, but it was not a problem for me. When I came I got a beer directly and they wanted to tell me about their excursions and so. I thought it was little too much selling when I first ame.
Unique Quality: Well, they had a bar which was open 24 hours a day. They gave you free coffee and also free internet. They had many computers. you also got a towell which is always nice when you are a backpacker.

Fun & Friendly
Fun Franks is a great hostel, one of best ive been in and ive been in many.
Its in a good location, just a 5 min walk to the old town, plus only 5 mins from the bus station.
Its a pretty big place but not too big.
The dorms range from 2 bed to 14 bed.
It has a very good bar, and you get a free beer when you arrive! It also has another common room as well as good internet rooms and kitchens.
The staff are great and they take you out each night to different bars.
A beer in the hostel bar is like 1Lat (£1).
A dorm bed is around 10-15 Lats (£10-15) depending on the size of the dorm.
A cab will cost 10 lats to/from the airport, its just a 10 min ride!

Coolest Hostel in Riga!
First thing when I went insade was that staff gave me free , cold Latvian Aldaris Zelta beer! Then they told me what to do and what don't in this city. I felt welcomed! They have bar in this hostel where yu can meet nice people from other countries!
They make pubcrawls(free) and other funny activities like shooting with AK-47 machine gun etc...

A Hostel in the hearth of Old Riga
The hostel is in the hearth of old Riga. All rooms of the hostel are very clean and people are very friendly and helpful . The hostel is just cross the Daugava river. Try to get one of the Daugava river panoramic view room.
Free cafee, tea, free internet (with an internet room with 5 computers). The prices are about 7 € to 12 € according to room preferences. Music on Wednesday nights from a freak group called "Bastards" :) I really enjoyed my stay in Friendly Fun Frank's Hostel.

Best Hostel in the World
On arriving at the hostel, the owner asked me if I wanted a free beer - that sums this place up perfectly.
This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff were amazing - able to answer any questions and great fun. The rooms were fine and the other guests extremely sociable. Free tea and coffee was available at all times. They even had Sky Sports on in the hostel bar, so I didn't miss any of the English football ;)

Fun stay in Riga's Oldtown!
This hostel is the best i ever stayed and seen through all the countries i've visited. Frank and all his staff put other hostels to shame :)) Cleanliness is flawless, staff is extraordinary friendly and helpful. Guests are being hosted as in high class hotel :) Frank takes the time to learn and even remember your name, where do you come from and what are your travelling interests. He will ask for sure about your hometown and how was your day after you come back to the hostel after sightseeing. Fun and friendly ambience makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed. Staff girls introduce you to the main sights of the city, suggest diner places and will answer all your questions with a nice smile :)
Bathrooms are clean and tidy, hot showers. Linen and towels provided.
From time to time Frank organizes theme tours around the city and barbecues in the inner yard of the hostel.
I found hostel guests very friendly and keeping good company too. Location is superb - right on the bank of river Daugava, one step - and you're in the oldtown. Hostel is very close to everything (main sights, pubs, nightclubs, restaurants, etc.) and if you need any help about Riga, staff of the local latvian girls who know all about their city and surrounds will help you right away.
Price for the night varies, depending on the room type you stay in and the season. Many-bedded mixed dorm-type rooms are really cheap. Check their website for more precise data.
I will come back there for sure ;)

Looking for an accommodation in Riga?
When you enter into the building where the hostel is located... you might feel like you are going in an old russian building... but when you get inside the hostel everything is fine and nice!
