Hotel Forums in Riga
Hotel Forums is a small and cosy hotel in the old town of Riga, right beside the the train and bus station. It is close to the historical and cultural sights. The restaurants, bars and nightlife are within a short walking distance. The hotel have different size of the rooms, from small rooms for 60 USD to suites for more than 120 USD.
Unique Quality: The hotel have 32 rooms, and offers double/twin and triple rooms, suites with sauna and balconies. Some rooms have air conditioning. A very good continental breakfast is served.

Near Centralgirgus
Hotel Forums is located in the old city centre of Riga, and some of the rooms are overlooking the central market. It's within a walking distance of the main sights, Latvian National Opera, museums, concert halls, entertainment and shopping area, pubs, restaurants, official institutions, the railway and bus stations.
The hotel was opened in 2001. The deco is rather 'oldy worldy' probably due to the fact that the building goes back to the 19th century. There are 6 floors in the hotel, but there is also an elevator for the benefit of disabled visitors, as well as a very useful air-co. Other facilities include restaurant, sauna, laundry and valet service as well as internet access
The rooms are rather pricey. I visited in 2005 and paid approximately £80 for a triple room. Room rate does include breakfast though, which is rather nice.

Satisfying at low cost
Cheap hotel with no extra facilities. No bar or restaurant, only a small room with 5 tables for breakfast. Newly renovated although my room had squeeky floor and bed.
Very nice staff too.
The only thing to look out for is that the taxis they call for you overcharge you!
Last stay they called a taxi that charged me 14 Lat from center to airport. Never pay more than 7!
