    Hotel Tia a good place

    by

Hotel Tia is basic and good value for the money. The staff are exceptionally helpful and they are friendly, polite and very relxed. Interesting security guard who approaches you when you least expect it ans says " I can get you things if you want them!.....girls!". Politely decline his offer and he is not offended. A walk to town but at least you get to see the city that way. I would recommend Tia to anyone who wants a reasonably priced, clean, safe hotel.

    Cheap, Clean Accommodation in Riga

    by

Stayed in Hotel Tia for 3 nights in Feb 2006. Was pretty straightforward to reach by taxi from the airport. Cost was about 10 Lats.

Hotel reception staff were very friendly, e.g. when we requested a fridge for the room, it arrived within 20 mins. Room itself was pretty basic, but had the necessities that we wanted: bed, clean shower / toilet, t.v., safe. There was a lift, so easy to reach our room.

Hotel isn't particularly central to Riga, but close enough. In the Feb snow, it took 15/20 mins to reach the centre. An easier way is to come out of the hotel, go left and catch the trolleybus #3 in to town. Cost was 20 sentimes. (30ish pence sterling).

Only real disappointment was the breakfast. Not really worth the effort other than for the tea / coffee / orange juice.

    Tia Hotel ***

    by

Nice clean rooms with own shower, toilet and TV. In the lobby is a pc that can be used for internet. This is free for the visitors.
Buffet breakfast is served in the cellar.

The hotel is not near the center. The website says 10 minutes, but better make it 15.

Unique Quality: No unique qualities. It is hard to remember what the hotel looked like. So to me that means nothing special. It was good enough for me to consider it for a next time.
