The location of the Old Riga Hotel was perfect - in the old town but on a quiet side street so no noisy drunks walking past the window like in other places. We were given a free upgrade to a bigger room when they realised the cot for our son didn't fit. The breakfast was excellent, with everything from champagne and pancakes on offer. Rooms were cosy, big and well fitted.
It's a great hotel, but there were a few niggles. Access for a pram was difficult. They split my bill into two credit card charges which confused me about the cost, and also meant I paid more in bank charges. Didn't see the need for that. I think the carpets were mysteriously dirty, or had some weird treatment. The rooms were spotless, but as my son crawled about the floor his hands and knees became black - he ended up looking like a street urchin.
Directions: From the bus station walk out where the buses come in, take a right under the bridge, cross the main road, and then turn right up Minsterejas.
