The hotel is situated in the city center, close to the main shopping street. It's a huge building, some of the floors remind of Soviet hotel, but some are renovated and provide rooms of high quality and comfort.
As far as I know many people stay at Takioji Neris. This hotel is close to Laisves Aleja, so you'll be able to go sightseeing and to enjoy the centre of the city on foot. Most of the museums, cinemas and shops are located in the centre. Check this page please http://www.1st-luxuryhotels.com/hotels/lithuania/kaunas/best_eastern_takioji_nerp.html

The biggest centrally located hotel in Kaunas with 180 rooms. Business and pleasure tourists both have everything they could need from a hotel including a small pool, sauna, hairdresser, beauty salon and modern conference facilities.
We stayed in hotel Metropolis 12.04.2006-17.04.2006. Metropolis Hotel has very god location in the very center of Kaunas. Our room was very spacious. The building and furniture are really very old and worn out, but everything was in working order. The rooms need some renovation, but for the money we paid for our room we cannot complain. The bathroom and the toilette were clean. Our only complain is about a lot of dust on the furniture and dirty floor. It seems that the floor was not vacuum-cleaned neither before we checked-in no during our 5 days we stayed there. Double doors contributed for a good night sleep. The breakfast (in SC Takioji Neris) was really good. The girls in the reception were nice and helped us with all our questions. It is a budget accommodation, but it has superb location, very low price, quiet spacious rooms with TV and good breakfast
