Bicycles and roller blades

by ginte

In town there are many streets for only pedestrians, bicycles or roller blade-skaters. Bicycle routs connect Palanga with its satellite settlements Sventoji (12 km) and Vydmantai (4 km). You can rent bicycles and roller blades in most sanatoriums, rest homes, hotels and guest houses, or right in the streets.

Sea Bridge

by Sonic747

This is a bridge into sea, originally built as pier by count Tiškevièius (he planned a port here). Later it was decided not to build a port due to shallow waters, but the "bridge" remained. It became a spot for romantic walks at the evening to see the sun coming down into sea. The original 100 year-old bridge was damaged over the time, in last it's years it wasn't even possible to reach the end. Thus, a new bridge was built in it's place. Posts of old bridge could be seen at right while walking on the new bridge.

BALTIJOS (Sunset on the Baltic Sea)

by Grazina

"What a sight to Behold."

In alll my travels, and all the sunset I've witnessed...THIS SUNSET TOOK MY BREATH AWAY. To imagine that we almost didn't get a chance to see it set because it was a bit cloudy this evening...but I would't allow it I stayed until the clouds cleared and the sun peeked out and took a dive into the SEA.

"Why am I waiting, why am I waiting, oh why am I .."

So, I sat, and sat, and sat...and low and behold it paid off, there she was bright and RED....I witness the sun taking a dive into the Baltic...B.E.A.U.tiful
