Hello Everyone
We are flying to Vilnius on 8th September but I am unable to find any website/information on how to get to our hotel from the Airport. We are arriving at 0135 ( which is actually morning of the 9th September ) so thats a funny time but we chose it because the flight arriving at this time was the cheapest.
We are staying at Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva which is situated on 'Konstitucijos pr. 20, ,LT-09308 ,Vilnius,Lithuania' but Google hasn't been very helpful on how to get there from the airport at that time of the night.
Yes there are taxis but 50LTL is a bit too much for us so would rather prefer public transport or any cheaper option, if possible.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Besides, if there are any VTs who would like to meet up ( we are staying in Vilnius for 9th and 10th September before moving on to Riga ), that will be a pleasure. We are aged 27 and 28, hoping to see as much of Vilnius as possible.

Hi, Sorry can't help you with tips on the transfer to hotel, but I highly recommend visiting Kaunas in Lithuania before moving onto Riga.
Kaunas is a very cute & dainty city. Very neat, and historical.
Lithuanian cuisine is nice & different!!

At daytime bus No 2 from the airport stops almost in front of the hotel, but unfortunately at the time you arrive no buses are available (last bus 22:45). Sorry to disappoint you, but the only option is taxi.
You may be able to share taxi costs with another passenger. Ask around on the plane and at baggage reclaim.

But I have one more question, rather more important, can anyone also please suggest on things we could do at that time of night in Vilnius ? We have booked the hotel from 9th of September and we have arranged to check in at 6am so would like to spend the 4 hours in the center or old town if its worth it.
And of course, if its safe.
Any advise would be great.

I can't help with that aspect, I'm afraid.....I'm always tucked up in bed at that time of night these days! :-(
u can get one for free in the kiosk near train station, and probably at the airport/tourist information if u are flying, no need to buy one, old town is very small. the one that u get at the train station also is a map of public transport, very useful !!
The university is a big complex of buildings in the old town, including St Joh Church. The university was open in 1570 and Vilnius university is one of the oldest in Eastern Europe. In 1832 the university was closed cause of students uprising. In 1919 the university was open again. I recommend you to go without any stop in front of the gate of the university because you may see as a student. In other way you have to pay an entrance fee. Some view of the yards of the university are in the travelogue.
As Vilnius central street "Gedimino" is renovating now, you should choose another way to find central square and Catehdra. It is not so big pity, because acctualy you will see old part of Vilnius, whom the main street is PILIES.
The Vilnius coat of arms is St. Christopher wading in the water and carrying the Infant Jesus on his shoulders.
The coat of arms was given to the city in the seventh year of its existence in 1330.
I saw such grafitti as on my picture (enlarge, please) twice not at all in Vilnius but in towns around where I drove by mistake looking for right way to Trakai.
Well, there was an inscription "CCCP" which meant in Russian: the Union of Soviet, Socialist Republics that was full name of the former Soviet Union and swastica - symbol of Nazi Germany. Did it mean that both systems were similar or what?
