I had a single room on the top floor at the Comfort Vilnius. It had a sloping roof with a skylight window which offered a nice view- very nice indeed! The room was quite small but not too small. There is a lift in the hotel so it doesn't matter if you get a room on the upper floors.
The breakfast room is in the basement. The breakfast was perhaps nothing to call back home and tell the relatives about but it was okey for the price, which was quite low. I paid 38 Euro or 131 Litas per night for a single with shower. Yes, I must tell that the bathroom was large, nearly as large as the sleepig part of the room!
If you get a room towards the street the sound from the traffic might be a little bit disturbing. There are frequent buses and trolleys runing the street towards the bus and railway stations. There is a stop not far from the hotel to use if you arrive with much luggage. Otherwise you can easily walk to/from the stations in 5 - 10 min, and you will reach the Gate of Dawn and the rest of the Old Town in more or less the same amount of time, but in the other direction from the hotel.
I didn't take any photos but there are good ones on the hotel site at booking.com which agency I used for my booking.
Dear Vt'ers,
My girlfriend and I will be in Vilnius at the end of July 2005. I have inquired into possible accommodations during that time.
Three places have rooms available:
1) Comfort Vilnius (mid-range hotel)
2) Bernardinu st. Guesthouse, and
3) Sleep in Vilnius (B&B)
Have any VT'ers stayed in either of these three places before? Any feedback on the above would be appreciated!!!
Regards,
JumpmanPro
