Town center

I can recommend taking a walk up and down the Grand-Rue ie the main drag. The street is rather narrow in places, so watch the traffic. You will pass the museums and many restaurants. Also you will see a statue of the justice cross.
Across the river you will find the Victor Hugo museum.
A war memorial plaque.

This plaque tells that after the WWII battle in Vianden, the liberation of Luxembourg was complete. Additionally, there are the names of US soldiers who fell there. One was notable for being named Gambino.
Church of St. Nicholas
by yumyum
Originally there was a chapel in this spot. The order of Templar built and extended this church in the 13th century. A fire partly destroyed the church in 1723, but already a year later it was rebuilt. The baroque altar with rococo elements is from 1768.
Nepomuk statue
by yumyum
The original statue of the holy Johannes von Nepomuk was made in 1750 by the local sculptor Thillen. Today, the statue on the bridge is a copy of the original. The original is housed in the St. Nicholas church since 1989.
The Chapel of the small statues (Bildchen Chapel)
by tompt
In the middle of the woods a small chapel was erected in 1848. In this chapel you can find the lower part of the altar from the Castle Chapel.
Each year on the first Sunday after 16th August, the whole congregation of Vianden goes on a pilgrimage to the miraculous statue of Our Virgin of the Bildchen, sheltered in this chapel.
Located on the slopes of the hill the view from the chapel is great.
