Cloister of the Trinitarians
by tompt
Adjoining the church of the Trinatarians is an ancient Gothic cloister. It belonged to the monastery of the Trinitarians, founded in 1248. The Trinitarian order aimed at freeing prisoners in the Holy Land. The habit of the order was a white coat, bearing a red and blue cross.
The monastery of the Trinitarians was abolished in 1783 by the emperor Joseph II of Austria. The cloister was partly destroyed then. In 1955 it was finally restored.
Do walk into the garden and enjoy the quiet and cool surrounding.

by Ewingjr98
The road leading from Vianden town to the castle is lined with nice restaurants, bars, and shops. If you walk from the bottom, it will be tiring and certainly worth your time to stop for a beer at a local tavern.
