The prices for a hotel room inside the city center in Luxembourg City was well over $100 even though it was slightly off season so since we had a car, we stopped to tour the city and have dinner and then booked a room at the Ibis Hotel near the airport, about 10-15 minute drive from the city center.
It was a typical Ibis hotel, actually the decor was almost identical to the one in Gent, they must have gotten a pretty good quantity discount on those groovy turquoise and orange bedspreads. Ibis hotels are always pretty basic and reasonably comfortable without any frills, a lot like dorm rooms.
The hotel was right on top of the airport, literally we could have walked there had we been flying out of Luxembourg, but we weren't bothered by any noise from the planes. Another option which was even cheaper was the Etap hotel next door but I figured Ibis was basic enough for me. The Ibis was 60E for a double which I booked through Priceline Europe for slightly less than on the Ibis website. The rate did not include breakfast.
two rooms adjacent for a familyof 5; not to well service as they use the same services as the IBIS hotel communicating by a hallway. We did not ate there so cannot comment on the food. breakfast was included in the rate but basic continental stuff.
close to airport and easy 10 mins connecting bus ride to town center.
