Luxembourg Accommodation: 5 months in Lux from March 2007

by krassy

Hi everyone,
I'm coming to Lux City in Marc to do a 5 month traineeship at the Official Publication Office.
Because of the very basic wage we get, I’m looking for a cheap accomodation (flat,house-sharing,studio,room or other) in Lux. I can afford max 550-580 euro/month (charges included).
Luxembourg seems to be quite expensive place, so I’d really appreciate any tips and advices about living there.
Also, anyone else on a traineeship, get in touch! You can contact at krassy_@hotmail.com too.
Many thanks in advance! Best wishes!

I'm not sure if this is limited to Brussels, but why not try the stagiaires' external website www.voy.com/53105/? There is an internal one too but you will only be able to access it from inside the institutions.

Hello, I'm coming to Lux in May to do a 3 month traineeship in the cabinet of members in ECJ. I'm trying to find an accommodation and a roomate. I've heard about convict centre in Lux. This institution focuses on short term rental (specially for trainees).

You can contact me at perecka@gmail.com

Good luck,

Travel Tips for Luxembourg

Luxembourg - the green capital

by SWFC_Fan

In contrast to many capital cities, Luxembourg contains a lot of greenery.

Pictured here is the Pont Adolphe (I believe), over the Petrusse Valley.

There are steps that take you down into the valley, where you can follow the walking paths.

Great idea

by Skipka

When I have seen this I was really amazed. It is really very funny to see everything like on your palm. In Grund there are little houses remaining poor people who planted herbals for nearby Closter for making medicines. Today it is an attraction of the city.

Lower Town

by Imbi

The city is divided into two parts, upper part and the lower part. Lower town is very popular for night life. It also has the National Museum of Natural History and other very attractive buildings. It has always been centre of different kind of skilled people who needed water to perform their work.

Free map and brochures of Luxembourg

by HORSCHECK

During our time in Luxembourg we used a free map from the City Tourist Office. The map includes the locations of most sights as well as a street index.

Besides free city maps the City Tourist Office provides several other helpful brochures, not only about Luxembourg-City but also about other destinations in the country.

If you are planning to take some daytrips by car you should pick up the "Touristic Map" which shows all principal streets of the country. It was most helpful for our trips.

Luxembourg's City Tourist Office is located at the Place Guillaume II.

Trip to Larochette

by HORSCHECK

On our way back from Berdorf to Luxembourg-City we took a 2 hours break in the quaint market town of Larochette.

Larochette is home to an old castle, which stands on top of a rock and therefore offers panoramic views of the town and the valley.

The history of the castle dates back to the 12th century, but a complete restoration took place just recently.

Larochette ist located only about 30 km north
of Luxembourg-City.
