€ 40.50 in a double room, € 11.50 addition for use by a single person
Don't expect a minibar, roomservice or pompous rooms. Do expect a friendly staff, an excellent restaurant and a quite surrounding. This hotel used to be and old water mill. It was last used during the Second World War to provide the local population of meal. After the war it was not in use anymore and the buildings turned into ruins. The campsite is surrounded by trees, it was foggy most of the time we were there & quite erie, especially as we were on our own. I have just found out this is a naturist (nudist) campsite, there was no mention of it when we visited so maybe there is an optional policy, but chilly in March/ April to go without clothes here anyway! The house sits at the rock so if we wanted to walk round the house, we had to go up and down stairs. The big pro was at the back we directly went into the woods, either walking towards Echternach or Berdorf. Right opposite the station. I was too tired to want to look much further.
Large but very basic room backing onto the extractor from another building. Not especially cheap and the bed wasn't terribly comfortable. Very pleasant, pretty run of the mill hostel. What I liked most were the people. They were funny and happy! The beds were clean, but the showers leave something to be desired. An outstanding hotel with top notch service, a great bar, and a high quality but casual restaurant that is often used by the Prime Minister, his Cabinet, and members of the parliament as an after work place to meet. Best location in the city bar none, and they will arrange a rental car if you wish to travel outside the city.
