by GrantBoone A good place to stay in the city of Luxembourg. 15 minutes walk from the railway station, plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The rooms are large but the only drawback is there are no en-suite facilities, only a large shower room and toilets at the end of each corridor.
Great location, not expensive to stay. Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: IN THE CENTRE OF THE CITYDirections: 15 MINUTES NORTH WEST OF THE RAILWAY STATION

pinch yourself, this is all real, and it's yours! by morgane1692 We rolled into town, unannounced, around 930p on a cold and wet Fri night. As we emerged from the undergound parking garage on Pl. Guillaume II, there it was, the Casanova Hotel, right in front of us. It was a sign! ;-)))
Outstanding characteristics include the view, the hairdryer in the bathroom, and the extensive breakfast buffet included in the room rate. In that order. by Pavlik_NL Diekirch is a village that can be considered in the centre of Luxembourg (itself a central country within Europe). Here are many good campings along the river Sure, but also other accomodations are available. nice to know is the canoe-rental agencies along this river, that organise tours of various distances. One is brought back by bus, after a lovely trip on the Sure with - if one goes far enough, on the leftbank Germany and on the right Luxembourg. The Sure eventually mouths into the Moselle.
Diekirch is the most central place in the grand-dukedom of Luxembourg to stay. Campings around the town variate from simple to luxereous and there are also some hotels and other ways of staying. However, Belgium and Luxemburg (as well as the Eifel-area in germany) are perfect for active holidays. Hiking, biking, canoeing and other sports find here the perfect environment. Even for rockclimbing and speleology these surroundings are holding all that you can wish for. Most campings at Diekirch rent canoes and start on a beautiful day to ride the waves of the river Sure Eastwards. Don't worry about having to go upstream again (it would be impossible) as there are several points along the river where you can leave the boat and hike, bike or go by bus, back to your tent. All the great sightseeings are in strikingdistance from Diekirch, as well as in Germany (for example Trier and the pictoresk Monschau), Belgium (Bastogne, many, many castles and spectacular caves) as Luxembourg itself (castles, pretty villages, the wonderful capitol and strange shaped rockformations). The Hilton Luxembourg by datapanik This was my first experience of a Hilton hotel. Luxembourg’s Hilton is a huge skyscraper set in a forested area some 3-4 km outside the city centre. While it is no architectural beauty from the outside it does make up for this by being luxurious inside. The hotel runs a free courtesy minibus to and from the city centre and the airport which is useful as taxis are expensive here.
The rooms are smartly furnished and very comfortable and the breakfast served in the oddly named Cafe Stiffchen has every breakfast item you could think of and is superb quality. There is also an indoor swimming pool with access to an outside terrace. Theme: HotelComparison: more expensive than averageDirections: Set in a forested area some 3-4 km outside the city centre.
