Hello, we are planning a 3 week holiday to Malta and are thinking of staying at the Porto Azzuro Aparthotel in Xemxija Bay near St.Pauls. Prices look good there but we are a little concerned that we'll crack up at night as there doesnt seem to be any bars/nightclubs nearby? Does anyone know how much taxis cost to get to Bugibba or even down to Paceville? I read somewhere that Bugibba is only 2km away from Xemxija Bay, is that true?...could walk therre then I guess (but maybe not back...lol)
We're also wondering about drink prices for local Maltese spirits, beer and wine (does Malta make wine???!) Any info would be appreciated...thanks!
Yes just the other side of the bay,lots of bars in Bugibba,unsure of ST.Paul's,check my malta page for buses they are cheap and with a weekly ticket you can visit the whole island as well.On my sports pages the first entry gives you some maps click on North West and you can see a map of the area.
Maltese wine is good called(Lachrymal)or something like that.Local beers good also,a friend of mine set up the brewery,unsure of current prices but they were cheaper.
Yeah, guess Bugibba would be the place cloosest for clubs. thanks for the info!
that hotel is really good maybe there are about 2 or 3 bars there is also a disco called Beachhaven well obviously Bugibba is packed with bars etc. but your hotel has a bar (prices abit epxenisve though) and also a disco there is also a bar called Sammy's tavern up the road from your hotel
to go to bugibba u can walk it its not that long but at night its a bit tiring maybe !!
You can find public Internet access in several stores and bars around. You buy a ticket of the local Malta server and any time left can be used at other access points too.
Next to Internet access these shops also provide cheap international phone connections.
Madliena Tower was built by the Knights of Malta and stands on high ground above the shore west of Ras L-Irqieqa on the north shore of Malta.
After the British gained control of Malta, this tower continued to serve as a military installation.
This restaurant is on the seafront with a great view over the bay you can swim in the sea from the concrete beach below not part off the restaurant.
It was very busy the last night there was a que outside, try going a bit earlier.
We had breakfast most days and some evening meals also.
I am going to give this restaurant four stars mainly for the price service and the food. We tried the a Maltese dish Bragioly one night which may have been one off the best meals we had. If you want something different try this.
I also liked the chicken in garlic and rice very filling.
Geronimo is designed as a Wild West resaurant. Fun for a theme night. Food is allright (even the chef came to the table to ask if everything was alright). Service at the resaurant at the opposite side seemed far better.
At the end of Salina bay inbetween Qawra and Salina is this small but pleasent park, it does not have anything special about it really but is a nice place to cut through while walking back from the direction of Salina, There are some clean public toilets here aswell.
