Map
by Balam
Qawra (and bugibba) is easy to walk around but a map does come in handy, the best map we found was a free one which is on the back of one of the leaflets for the Classic Car museum. on the back is an Ordanance survey type map of Qawra that we found very usefull.
Qalet Marku Tower
by Diana75
Qalet Marku Tower, also known as St Mark's Tower, is probably the third of the thirteen towers built by Grand Master de Redin.
The price of the building was entirely paid by the Grand Master and was built between March 1658 and July of the following year together with the other twelve towers.
During the British period a small room was built in front of the Tower to serve as a guard room but only its foundations remain.
Handy little snack bar
by Evenith666 about Ta’Far Ben
Ta’Far Ben is a restaurant, lido and snack bar, located underneath Qwara tower and bastion. The Lido area has a pool and lots of sun beds, and the restaurant looked very nice. We popped into the snack bar for a bite to eat after walking round all morning. We were served by a friendly English person, originally from London but who lives in Malta. We both had cheese burgers with onions which had been cooked well and were very tasty, priced at €3.95.

Gozo and Comino Cruises
by intertraveler
We went on the Gozo and Comino boat trip we should just have been on the Comino trip but there was some confusion about our booking.
This is a great trip especialy on those hot days. We were transfered from our hotel in Bugibba to the Sliema ferry point were we boarded our boat which was in fact a schooner.
The trip was very imforative and we sail to near Mgarr on Gozo were we anchored up for swimming from the boat.
Then we had lunch also included in the price. I had a piece off beef potatoes veg but you could have a salad with a selection off cold meats also with fresh fruit for desert and incl was a glass off wine. The quality was very good not to mention that they came around with sandwiches also during the trip.
After lunch we sailed to the Blue Lagoon on Comino if you go on this trip you will understand its name. There were quite a few boats in the lagoon but we paid extra to visit the caves on speed boats this was a high powered speed boat and the ride was something else.
We then sailed around Comino and made our way back to Sliema plus also given a lot off talks about the history off Malta.
They also provide masks for swimming.
