More about Golden Tulip Vivaldi Hotel

It was brand new in 1999 :-)

by mauro_pd about Golden Tulip Vivaldi

The Vivaldi hotel is my favorite among the hotels I visited; it has a very big hall with a very special restaurant (which is usually uncommon) and a top-roof swiming pool (very small but nice); rooms are usually larger than expected.

WARNING: during summertime (june thru september) the Bamboo bar in front of the Vivaldi really pumps on the volume all night long till 5-6 am; during this period asks at reservation to have a quiet room !!

We staid at the Golden Tulip...

by AnitaJRT

We staid at the Golden Tulip Vivaldi in Paceville. While the accommodations were very night, and staff helpful -- it was in a noisy section of Paceville. I can tell you also that during our 12 night visit, we blew out the circuit breaker in the room (total darkness for a while till the located it), blew up the electronic door lock (took about an hour to repair) and had no hot water a couple of mornings. Maybe these were just gremlins following us around, but you gotta wonder. Breakfasts were good and they always accommodated our early morning departures with coffee and pastries in the lobby. They always replenished our shampoo and bubble baths (something our American hotels don't always do).
For a complete 12 day package, including about 6 hours we paid $550 per person in February. I feel that is cheap. Some rooms overlook the ocean, varying sizes, varying prices -- very clean! PLUS when you are getting oriented to your location, you are very near the Hilton with that eyesore of a tower (really detracts from the charm of the skyline) -- but it helped us to locate the hotel the first couple of days.

best pubs near the milano due malta for sport amd beer

Re: ecktravel

by leics

It helps if you say where the hotel is.

The Milano Due is in Sliema. Having no interest in sports, I'm afraid I can't recommend anywhere specific.

There are, however, plenty of pubs and bars with both beer and sports in Sliema: you will not be short of choice.

Travel Tips for Malta

IL HMURA....( donkey in dialect ! )

by ROCKARIA

Tradition is still rife in Malta & on the sister Island of Gozo. Farmers still till their land with Mules or take their produce with horse drawn carts.Once in Malta especially in Valletta or Mdina take a ride on the horse drawn carraige"KARROZIN"

RELIGION CUSTOM - EASTER SUNDAY

by ROCKARIA

Easter Sunday is celebrated all over most Towns and villages of Malta parading the Statue of Jesus Christ through the streets accompanied by the local brass band. Its a festive and joyous celebration with small chidren getting their "Figolla" which is a traditional pastry with colourfull icing depicting a form either of an Easter Bunny or any other shape especially made mostly by their own mothers or Nanna's.....when i was young i always nibbled half of it some days before Easter Sunday came.....so you can imagine which shape my easter rabbit "Figola" looked like in Easter!!

front garden in Valletta

by alusru

If you lived somewhere with large, verdant, spacious gardens, you might understand the smile on my face and my feelings when I saw that front garden in Valletta.

Plants need a lot of water to grow but Malta has little. Ground in Valetta is rare. However, you can always find enough inspiration to make your imaginations come true. To be so creative with so little, I adore.
