Pure Luxury inside the old walls

I did not stay in this hotel, but I passed by it, when walking through the old town of Mdina.
b.t.w. this is the only hotel inside the walls of the old, medieval town of Mdina. Dont miss to take a look at its unique door-knocker (my last photo)!

Unique Quality: This hotel is inside an old palace and it has a great garden-restaurant in the shady square. The building dates back to the year 1530 and the hotel will also not have more than just 17 luxury rooms, an excellent restaurant and a pizzeria.

Lovely Hotel

We got some reasonable rates via an internet offer on their site. The hotel is a beautiful 17th century Palazzo. It's a fancy hotel but the service is relaxed and low-key. It's a very restful serene place. We had a duplex suite that was very roomy. They had wireless internet service. Very romantic vibe.

Unique Quality: Rooftop patio gives a panoramic view of Malta. The staff were very helpful getting me tickets to see a performance at the Manoel Theater.

Luxury and Location

You can stay in the Silent city of Mdina and appreciate its uniquess and lamplight at night time by staying overnight here. The Xara Palace is a luxury hotel with a fine reputation for its restaurant....and what a location in this historical city. One for the next visit maybe....?? Situaated in its own quiet courtyard and tith its own cafe in front it looked idyllic.

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

The Xara Palace is a unique romantic venue situated in the fortified Silent City of Malta, Mdina. It's luxurious interiors, imposing building and excellent service makes it definetely a memorable stay ...
This 5 star hotel, the only considered in Malta a Relais et Chataux, has 17 rooms, fine dining Restaurant and Pizzeria.
Fine Dining is probably the most expensive, between LM 12 - LM 28 ie. approximately between 29 Euros - 67 Euros.

Unique Quality: This enchanted experience, luxurious atmosphere, excellent food, impressive service and fine dining in one of the terraces are all the ingreadients for a great experience.
Highly recommended for business dinners and most of all romantic ones... such as engagements, weddings, anniversaries or whether in need of some Royal treat....

The Only Choice In Town

The only hotel within Mdina city walls and reputed to be the best hotel in Malta. We didn't stay here so I can't give a personal comment, but I add this tip for anyone reading so that they know about this place.

Unique Quality: The only hotel in Mdina - and a good one too, with "romatically" furnished rooms and 5* quality.

Deluxe Hotel within a Walled City

I didn't stay here, but had a look around in case I might in the future!

It was truly exquisite. A former 17th century Palazzo, it has been beautifully preserved and transformed into luxury accommodation. A feeling of tranquility is all around the hotel. It is set within the 'silent city' of Mdina so it will obviously be a quiet place to stay!

Although located in central Malta, it is not in a very convenient place if you wish to get out and about sightseeing (unless you hire a car or are prepared to take buses or taxis everywhere), but perfect for a romantic short break. The restaurant and menu looked wonderful.
Lovely views across the Maltese countryside - you could even see the coastline a few miles away.

Unusual wedding venue

I am newly engaged and have decided that we would like to get married in Malta. Can anyone recommend a venue for the reception that is romantic and historical, yet small enough so our 50-60 guests won't be rattling around! I like the idea of something like the Xara Palace in Mdina, but ideally less expensive and a bit unique and special.

Nice to hear that you are coming to Malta to get married. Wish you best of luck. I suggest you the Bacchus. It is also in the village of Mdina, where Xara Palace is. It is set in an old typical Maltese house. Try www.bacchus.com.mt.
