Not so pleasant hotel

This hotel is nothing special. The rooms are small and stuff and very dirty nothing to write home about. The staff is not at all nice and my experience there was not so nice so I don t recommend this hotel besides for what they give you its really expensive and nothing special.

The only thing that it has nice is that it is close to mellieha beach otherwise its terrible.

Unique Quality: pool is small and they dont let u take in friends so be careful and staff were rude with us

Nice hotel near the beach

Luna Holiday Complex is nothing luxurious, but a decent 3-star hotel located between Mellieha village and the sandy beaches in Mellieha Bay. Ask for a room at the garden side if you want to sleep without ear plugs (which don't even help that much...). The hotel is situated on a very busy road and the traffic noise is unbearable! We had a room at the front side of the hotel, on the second floor, and on our first night I couldn't sleep at all. I got used to the noise, but I'm sure it would've been nicer to stay on upper floor or at the other side of the hotel.

Our room had a kitchenette with an electric oven, a water heater and a fridge. The room was spacious and clean, and since we had a superior room, there was also air conditioning, which was essential.

Breakfast was ok with bread, cold cuts, cheese, tomatoes, cereals, eggs and sausages and coffee/tea and juice.

The beach is about 5 minutes walk down the road. There are quite a few restaurants along the way.

Unique Quality: There are two pools in Luna, one at the garden and one on the roof. I only used the roof top pool, which was more convenient and offered great views over the bay and up to the Mellieha village.

On the hotel premises there's also a mini market, which was very handy for picking up water and anything else you would need. The mini market was also quite cheap.

More about Luna Holiday Complex

Very close to the most beautiful beach around

by grantica about Luna Holiday Complex

We made a mistake while making our reservation and forgot to book the first night staying. We immediately looked on the Internet and booked a room at this nice hotel. It was full of elderly people staying here for a week or two. The hotel is very close to the Mellieha Bay, that is the longest and the most beautiful sandy beach on Malta.

But if you consider to stay here you should know that is hard to get around. There are very few bus lines that start and go through Mellieha, the fares are higher as this town is on the western part of the island. Anyway the bus stop is a few meters out of the hotel. You will have to rent a car which isn't the best and safest thing to do here.

But its an excellent spot for travelers looking for beach and for the one who want to go to Gozo & Cumino. nice staff, close to the ferry station to Gozo & Cumino and close to the beautiful beach of Mellieha Bay.
