 | Luna Holiday Complex: Nice hotel near the beach

Luna Holiday Complex is nothing luxurious, but a decent 3-star hotel located between Mellieha village and the sandy beaches in Mellieha Bay. Ask for a room at the garden side if you want to sleep without ear plugs (which don't even help that much...). The hotel is situated on a very busy road and the traffic noise is unbearable! We had a room at the front side of the hotel, on the second floor, and on our first night I couldn't sleep at all. I got used to the noise, but I'm sure it would've been nicer to stay on upper floor or at the other side of the hotel. Our room had a kitchenette with an electric oven, a water heater and a fridge. The room was spacious and clean, and since we had a superior room, there was also air conditioning, which was essential. Breakfast was ok with bread, cold cuts, cheese, tomatoes, cereals, eggs and sausages and coffee/tea and juice. The beach is about 5 minutes walk down the road. There are quite a few restaurants along the way.
There are two pools in Luna, one at the garden and one on the roof. I only used the roof top pool, which was more convenient and offered great views over the bay and up to the Mellieha village. On the hotel premises there's also a mini market, which was very handy for picking up water and anything else you would need. The mini market was also quite cheap.
