Walking from Sliema we passed the peace gardens - which certainly were that - very quiet and no-one playing here and no cats :-( Across the bay the blue tower of the Portomaso. business centre can be seen - some say a blot on the landscape...you make up your own mind on that. The Portomaso area has the swanky hotels, marina and caasino. Unfortunately we never got that far during our week...may be we will stay at he Hilton there the next time ;-)
Ballutta Square is a great meeting place, mainly for locals but tourists go there too (we were there most nights). By day mothers sit and chat while their kids play in the square and around the fountain; Students meet up for lunch, drinks and chats; old folk sit just to enjoy the day and have a chat. By night it's much the same! Mothers still chat and children still play. I love the place.
7 Rooms was once called Bamboo bar and it is situated just outside the Westin Dragonara Presmies. Here you can have a relaxing drink or cocktail and meet loads of international people. The place is always filled with young students who come to Malta to learn English.
The place is surrounded with palm trees and has 7 sort of gazebos drapped with white drapes and cushions that makes the place look original ! Casual
This is one of my favorite places even though it tends to get crowdy at times as the Alley has always been the bar most visited I guess. Sort of, you cannot come to Paceville and miss out from the Alley - its the place where everyone meets I guess that's why.
The bar consists of 4 bars and a small dance floor. The music played is mostly rock however in these last few years they started playing Commercial music as well.

I do not particularly suggest that you intake every meal in Malta at my favorite fast food chain, but it is an option for those lazy days where you want something to eat right here, right now! The burgers and fries are just as good as at home and they have several flavors for McFlurry. Prices are a little bit cheaper than the average dish served on restaurants -> quite expensive. We paid 2 LM for the chicken premiere meal! there are several Mickey D's in Malta, we tried and tested the one in the BayStreet complex in Paceville.
Do not enter without a shirt on! You will not be served.. McChicken Premiere is a hit!
