Don't leave Malta without trying these!
by Elly01
Well, this custom tip is a bit of a strange one but I had no idea where to place it !
When you come to Malta make sure you go to a 'pastizzi' shop ! You cannot miss them there are loads of outlets all around Malta and Gozo! 'Pastizzi' are made of filo pastry and usually are filled with either cottage cheese 'ricotta' or a consistency of mashed peas which to me are simply unresistable ! In my opinion, I prefer the pea ones. These outlets even serve pizzas, sausage rolls, chicken pies and baked pasta. Down in the St.Julians the two pastizzi places I know of are 'Leo's and 'Champs'. Leo's is just opposite Portomaso on the right, just opposite HSBC Bank and Champ's is in the same road of Wembley Taxi Service (main road of St.Julians, that is St.George's Street.)
Piece of Cake - Cake, Tea and Coffee Galore!
by Elly01 about Piece of Cake !
Piece of Cake is a cafeteria situated in the corner of one of the roads in Paceville. Here you can have a light snack, coffee, tea, a softdrink and many different cakes to choose from. I have placed this tip under nightlife as this place is open during the day and even during the evening. Casual
The Blackbull Pub
by Elly01 about The Blackbull Pub
This is another bar which seems to be popular amongst young people however I don;t go very often. I have no idea why but it seems that when you have a few common places where your friends go - you always tend to go to those places! I go to this place just to have a quiet drink during the week in Summer as its nice when you sit outside ! Casual
Typically Maltese
by sandysmith about Tal Kazin
Small and friendly restaurant serving maltese speciality dishes. A last chance to try the Maltese speciality - Rabbit.cooked in a wine sauce - very tasty and not unlike chicken. First we had another local dish - baked macaroni with tomatoes, peppers and herbs in a thin pastry crust. which was lovely and quite filling for a starter. None of the sweets took my fancy here though so we hopped across the road to Paparazzi's!
That was a great combo!
