Paceville hotels: Not so quiet

We didn´t stay here, but I just wanted to tell you people, that if you like to stay close to nightlife, St Julians is o.k. But if you aren´t going to party all the nights, I suggest you to check the distance to Baystreet complex. If the hotel is in 200m or closer to Baystreet complex, I´m sure there will be lots of noise at night! If that doesn´t bother you, then go ahaed! We didn´t dare to take a hotel at St. Julians, but because of more places to eat than in Sliema, I think we would have taken it, if we would have known, that noise is mostly next to Baystreet. There was also some pubs and not so "disco" bars, but I don´t want to stay there whole night, and like to sleep a little also ;)

Close to nightlife!

Family Residence for females: Nice welcoming female residence

My sister in-law gets students or foreigners at her home which is situated in St.Julians however the upper part of St Julians which we locals call St Andrews - it is a really nice part of St Julians. Her house is really pretty and warm and she is really caring and cooks lovely meals !

She accomodates only females. She offers this accomodation throughout the year however it is recommended that you book early because in Summer it is very busy.

If you want more information and help just email me !

Her house is close to all amenities, shops, pharmacy, English Language schools, bus routes, St Julians Promenade, Luxol Grounds and Paceville where all the night life is.

Small and cosy hotel: Alfonso Hotel

The Hotel Alfonso is situated very centrally in St Julians. It is only a five minute walk away from the hustle and bustle which is Paceville, with its night clubs, discos, bars, cinema, bowling etc. It is only a ten minute walk from a sandy beach in St George’s Bay.
The hotel operates on bed and breakfast, half board or full board basis. Its popular restaurant "Alfonso's" caters for both the residents and an extensive local clientele who have come to associate it with good informal dining at excellent prices. It offers a selection of snacks, pasta, pizza, grills, fish and Maltese dishes. It also has a Kids’ Corner and a wide array of mouth-watering desserts. Complimentary appetizers are served. For the complete menu and prices please visit www.alfonsohotel.com

It a comfortable hotel and its charming reception area is as welcoming as is the T.V. lounge, which is tastefully furnished to produce a highly relaxing atmosphere. The hotel is ‘old-fashioned’, that is to say, it is not a big concrete block. It is an authentic, small, family-run hotel. The management and staff are always happy to satisfy guests' individual needs. The hotel is also fully wi/fi operational.
Complimentary tea and coffee are available all day in the lounge. The Alfonso has 28 rooms, some of which command an impressive view of the picturesque Spinola Bay. All rooms have private facilities, a safe deposit box, fans in summer and heaters in winter. The fourth and fifth floors are fully air-conditioned (optional extra).

Email me if you are interested in this hotel as I vcan get you some very good rates !

Kavalieri Hotel: Kavalieri Hotel

This hotel was pulled down and now its under construction as you can see in the photo. I am sure it will be very nice when it is finished as it overlooks the St.Julians/Sliema Promenade and consists of really nice open sea seaviews.

Vivaldi hotel

On the 1st of May 2005 there were fireworks celebrating 1 year from Malta joining the EU. We had a delicious bottle of local Chardonnay while enjoying the lights, stars and the sea breeze.

Vivaldi hotel

4 star classy hotel, splendid location, very close to the Casino and exclusive restaurants from the beach as well as the lively clubs, bars & pubs of Saint Julian's.

Theres a small swimming pool on the roof, with sunbeds and an amazing view.

Vivladi Hotel: Vivladi - Relaxing hotel with a nice environment

Vivaldi Hotel is situated just further up from the Westin Dragonara Hotel and the Casino as you can see its very central. Never stayed at the hotel but it seems to be a nice hotel.

I have no idea as I have not been there but I think it has a pool on the roof as the place does not have any gardens around it since its built in the center of Paceville and not at the edge besides the sea. However it has seaviews. On the roof there is al fresco restaurant for sure which is very romantic and nice.

Corintha San Gorg Hotel: Corintha San Gorg- Luxurious high quality hotel !

The hotel is situated at the end of Paceville, Pembroke area. This hotel is of high quality and had everything a person can dream of. I never stayed at the hotel but once I visited the hotel for day at its spa resort. It was very nice and relaxing. One thing which I don't like is that the hotel was built on area where once a tower stood and which could be seen by everyone. Today to be able to see this tower one has to be a resident at the hotel or visit the hotel for 1 day to use spa resort only !

The hotel has indoor/outdoor pools, great views, shops, cafeterias, restaurants. It also has a spa resort where one can go and make use of many relaxing packages ! Outside the hotel but on the premises one can make use of Hanks, Vinotech this place where one can have cheese platters and wine and other dishes. There is also an al fresco restaurant and also an ice-cream shop.

Sprachcafe Club Village: Sprachcafe Club - Youth hostel with a difference !

Sprachcafe is situated in St.Andrews a small village further up from Paceville and St.Julians. Sprachcafe premises where once used as barracks for the soliders who were lodged here in Malta. Infact the premises are quite old even though they refurbished the whole village and brought it up to standard but the style of the buildings are different from the usual buildings in Malta. One can come and learn English also here.

On the premises one can find a restaurant, bar, and pool facilities.

Radission Hotel: Radission Hotel - A hotel with a seaview

Radission is situated at the end of Paceville but not in the noisy part but in a very quiet area actually it is close to Pembroke. It overlooks the sea and is adjacent to Corinthia San Gorg Hotel. It also has its own car park.

Great views, cafeteria, shops, restuarant, a 24 hour bistro, and also a bridge bar.

Portomaso Hotel (ex Hilton): Portomaso Hotel -Experience the best seaview ever!

I have never been but I know people who stayed there and I never heard anyone grumble. Portomaso is one of the most top hotels there is in Malta. The complex surrounds a harbour where boat owners leave their boats. The place has its own restaurants, chocolate shop, cafeterias, bars, Japanese Restaurant and Malasysian Restaurant! It is a place where you find everything close to eachother. The hotel has 2 indoor pools and one has also a seaview of the harbour. The outside pool has many sports facilities. The most common is sailing as there are professional people who even teach you how to sail even if you are not a resident at the hotel ! The walk along the harbour at night is very peaceful !

The hotel has a very sophisticated theatre, and seaview from every part of the hotel ! Having a breakfast at Portomaso will keep you satisfied for all the day as they serve an impressive breakfast !

Westin: Westin

Another classy hotel that we didn't stay at but which we sampled the ameneties of. The Westin is on a peninsula and has its own "beach", which non-residents can use for a modest daily fee. The Maltese Beer Fesetival was taking place on the lawns in front of the hotel when we visited, but for one reason or another we didn't go and sample anything, we were too busy just enjoying the balmy summer evening and the beautiful sea views.

Intercontinental: Top Class Luxury

We didn't stay here, we just sauntered in for a look around and we also dined in their restaurant. I have to say that it was by far the most impressive hotel I've ever set foot in - it just oozed quality and class. Of course I can't vouch for the bedrooms etc, but the public areas were really a class above, and the restaurant was without doubt the best we have ever eaten in.

Simply class!
