Malta's magnificent Dragonara Palace.
by wandabendik about Dragonara Palace.
This hotel was the first one I had ever experienced abroad.
It was oppulence at its best, charming, full of wealth and extravagance. Our room was hugh it had everything anyone could need.
The resturant dining table held at least 30 people around it, which was dressed out with numerous glasses and cutlery fit for a queen, lots of flower arrangements and candleabras.
The pool was large with lots of sun beds, overlooking St Julians Bay, the view was beautiful as the sun went down.
One thing I distinctly remember was it had a casino, this was also luxurious, lots of different gaming tables.
Yummy !

Whenever I went to this restaurant I always had good food and great service. If you go in the evening , try and take a seat on the terrace. There is a magnificent view of St Julians bay The pasta dishes are just fabolous......
Pizzas are delicious too. Salads are very fresh and abundunant .
If you are opting for desert, you should go for the choclate cake. It is orgasmic :)
Great Setting - Huge Portions!
by mazzap about Paparazzi Restaurant
Great choice of pizzas, pastas, burgers, steaks, salads and many other choices on a trendy menu!
We had a VT meeting here - 11 of us attended (7 VT'ers) and evrybody's food portions were huge and tasty.
Service was good and great views over St Julians bay. The buzzing atmosphere makes this restaurant a popular place to eat. Book a table to avoid disappointment. Everything looked good - I had a pasta dish with basil and salmon - very green in colour, but very nice!
Charming fisheries

St Julians Bay and Marsaxlokk-“the port of the dessertwind”, are two important fishingports. Here you can study the colourfull boats itself, most are still the traditional luzzus, complete with the eye in the bow. It helps the boat to find the way and avoid dangers. The same eye was in use in ancient times, and are still in use today as far away as Indonesia. Also look after the strange, rectangular lightboats. These places are living harbours so you can watch all the preparations and landing of the catch (often early in the morning) and the maintainance of boats and equipment. It provides great photopportunities. The fishingindustry of Malta aren’t big, approxemately 800 people runs it, and the yearly catch are, according to what i have read, not more than around tousand tonnes annually.
Annual trip to St Julians Bay, Malta
by Karen&Paul
Every year we make a trip to St Julian's Bay, Malta. We love it! Not for the clubbing or nightlife but because it is central and easy to get into Valetta, Sliema and the centre of the island. We go as a part of a group - mostly over 40 - and have a great time. We visit lots of the sights and always gen up on what is happening during the time of our visit. This year it was the International Fireworks Festival, which we watched from the deck of a boat in the harbour - good fun if a little chilly!
