The beaches in Sliema
The beaches in Sliema are stony as in whole Malta. I'm not sure whether there are more than two sandy beaches in whole Malta island or not? So, if you plan your vacation in Malta, better book hotel with outdoor pool.
Hotel beside the sea in Sliema, a room with a sea view for us. A large clean and comfortable room too - fridge and balcony a bonus. Simple buffet breakfast included in the price. Location and room both good, lovely friendly staff too, made very welcome here and sad to leave, definately a revisit soon

I travel to Sliema to see my boyfriend and would like to put fresh flowers indoors, any ideas where I might find a flower shop in Sliema? I have been to Tower supermarket and they only have pot plants and I am looking for a selection of fresh cut flowers, florists perhaps?
Try also doing a search on The Malta Yellow Pages http://www.yellowpages.com.mt/ I work in Sliema but I can't think of any flower shops. As we get closer to Easter, a flower seller will appear in the mornings, in front of the HSBC bank on Main Street, Sliema. Usually there is also a flower seller on the weekends in Spinola Bay, St Julians.
the rose shop in qormi does beautiful flowers and he will deliver anywhere, anytime. Just look up his number on the net.

We walked to the sea front at Sliema when everyone seemed to go mental shouting and beeping horns people got on top of cars and danced, I didn't know what was going on so I asked and England had just won a game in the world cup.
It made me feel proud to be English to see the Maltese people backing England so much.
I watched these young Maltese people jumping down from the old pier in Sliema for a while.... They had fun, even if looks quite dangerous to me. The policemen that were patrolling the promenade didn't liked it either, and so they had to go off.... Bathing suits and courage
Just wander off from the Strand (Tigne' area) and try to get a look at the view of Valletta( The Capital City) across the bay.
A good view is guaranteed especially in the late afternoon when the sun is setting.
Good view during the night too when the bastions are lightened.
From Mellieha the quickest way to get to Sliema is the Bus Nr. 645. It still takes about 50 minutes to get there. The route is quite nice, as it follows the coastline for most of the time.
It's a direct route bus and it costs 40 cents.
Bus Route 645: Cirkewwa, Mellieha Bay, Mellieha Village, Mistra Village, St. Pau's Bay, St. Andrews, St. George's, Paceville, St. Julians, Balluta, Sliema, Sliema Ferry
