Hotel de Paris, Monte Carlo: A five star luxury hotel

Hotel de Paris is a five star luxury hotel located at Place de Casino adjacent to Monte Carlo Casino in the heart of the city of Monte Carlo. It is one of the finest hotels in the city as well as one of the legendary hotels in Europe! The hotel has been operating since the late 19th century. It has approximately 180 well equipped rooms and 70 suites spread over eight floors with several bars and restaurants. This great hotel is so beautifully illuminated at night.

Among its sophisticated facilities and amenities are non smoking rooms, fully air-conditioned, swimming pools, health and fitness centres, sauna, gym, business centre, meeting and conference rooms, secretarial services, laundry services, fax services, high speed internet access, mini bar, hair dryer, safe depost boxes, cable television, pets allowed, parking amenities, multi-lingual staff, kids activities, gambling facilities, hair saloon, foreign currency exchange and 24 hour reception.

Monaco is a place to be visited. For many people a one day trip. Tourists visiting the south of France take this opportunity, for others, relativaly a few, it is their second home.

I love the hotels that carry the "The Leading Small Hotel of the World" label. Although these are often pricey, Monte Carlo is a good place to allow yourself to be pampered. Not only is it an equisite hotel architecturally, but it has been granted the status of a historical monement!

Built at the turn of the century, the Hôtel Hermitage Monaco a gorgeous example of "Belle Epoque." The hotel feel intimate and quiet -- like stepping into the past. When you are there, check out the:

- Restaurant with a terrace that offers a panoramic view, le Vistamar
- Winter garden with Gustave Eiffel dome
- Lobby-bar : the "Limùn Bar" ... and the
- Piano-bar

Behind this hotel's facade, decorated with frescoes and perched above the port, it harbors a few masterpieces, such as the Salle Belle Epoque with its pink marble columns and its crystal chandeliers, and a winter garden topped with a spectacular glass and steel dome signed by Gustave Eiffel.

The hotel has direct access to the Thermes Marins de Monte-Carlo.

Palais Josephine: A Beusoleil Bargain

Palais Josephine is positioned in the lively Carre Belle Epoque Quarter in Beausoleil. The residence lies 200 metres from the magnificent gardens of Monte Carlo and is in the vicinity of the Monaco Conference Centre. This residence hotel is actually a time share facility, which sublets its rooms at quite reasonable rates when not being used by timeshare owners. It is built in typical Monaco style and has spacious and pleasant apartments and a rooftop pool with a beautiful view.

I read a few negative comments about the Paris Hotel in Monaco and I fully confirm it - This hotel is clearly over-rated by many guide books according to me. I stayed at the Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel and I recommend it. Rooms are clean and staff is friendly. Concerning the famous "beach" I consider it as unfriendly but the swimming pool is nice. The Price was 434 Euros per night for a double room with seaview (very large). I booked on the website indicated below.

the hotel is very clean the staff is very friendly. Request the roof top stay, they serve champangne every night at 1900.

the hotel has its own private beach and the pool is very large. also, with a beach view you can see the cruise lines coming and going.

Riviera Marriott Hotel La Porte de Monaco: Great views

Probably the best Marriott I've ever stayed in (and as a Platinum member of Mariott, I've stayed in a few).

The reception was quick, easy and very helpful. As we arrived earlier than anticipated, the receptionist was all appologies that the room was not ready but had our luggage stowed before we could even figure out what we would be doing for the rest of the day.

Beds with down comforters and down topping to the mattress. Incredible comfort that leaves you very well rested even if you can't get the number of hours you really want.

Not all the views are of the harbor but, as ours was, and the view was incredible.

Everyone was friendly and ready to please, exactly what Bill Marriott wishes to achieve with his hotel chain.
