More about Fairmont Monte Carlo
Excellent location and service
by TripAdvisor Member Tero Lehto
I stayed here from Friday evening to Sunday morning. It was definitely a genuine five stars hotel with first class service, great location, good services, such as the restaurant with a nice sea view.
The room was nice, but I had a view to the inside park. Not all the rooms have the sea view of course. The standard room was regular what you'd expect in four stars, there weren't bath robes for example.
And there wasn't Chezh or German beer in the minibar. ;o
However, the breakfast wasn't up to the level of this hotel, it was somewhat a disappointment.
If I ever plan to stay again in Monte Carlo and money is not an issue, I'd choose Fairmont Monte Carlo again.
Fine Service

We stayed at the Fairmont for one night on our way from Nice to Northern Italy. Reception staff and conceirge were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Hotel has a very central location. Room was fine and good value (Hotels[-]). Top floor restaurant and pool had superb views The casino was small but friendly!
Not quite Monte Carlo five star, but we would return.

From the moment we arrived we experienced nothing but professional service that was delivered with a smile.
Our trip to Monaco was to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The hotel could not have done more. We had a bottle of champagne, fresh fruit and local cakes to welcome us in our room. On the actual day of the anniversary, we returned to our room to find red roses and shortly after our return a delicious chocolate cake hand decorated delivered to the door from the management.
The food was excellent, the views spectacular. We would not hesitate to return to this hotel and would definitely recomment it.
The Fairmont

This is perhaps something of a behemoth, possibly an extinct one as much seems to be stuck in a time warp in Monaco!
A vast, dated hotel, though extensive renovations seem to be underway in some parts.
Rooms are spacious and spotless with plenty of storage, great bathrooms, very fast internet connection.
Service is brilliant, and staff friendly, polite and helpful beyond the norm.
Restaurants are laughably expensive, but the food is out of this world. Seventies decor needs to be refreshed.
Well located on the seafront, and within easy walking distance of the centre.
A true 5 star hotel

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights as part of our honeymoon which also took in Nice and Cannes. The rooms were impeccible, breakfast was great and the staff were ultra helpful and friendly. The valet parking was free ( this cost me €30 per night in a 5 star hotel in Nice!) which is good. I will certainly stay at this hotel again.
Lovely Stay
by TripAdvisor Member Anonam
We stayed at the Fairmont for 2 nights in March and had a lovely stay!!
Just a note to anyone who hasn't pre booked a transfer from the airport - taxis are v v expensive - they will charge you 65 Euros each way. A cheaper option is to get the no 110 bus. It leaves from just outside the terminal building - stand no 2 I think. This only costs 15 Euros each way and stops right outside the Fairmont Hotel. It leaves every hour and takes approx 40 mins. If you are between 18-25 it will only cost you 11 Euros!!
Back to the hotel!! Check was quick and easy. Staff v friendly and efficient. Some of reception had been cornered off though as they are currently renovating the hotel but the disturbance was kept to a minimum.
The room was probably the best thing about this hotel. Rooms are huge and very light and airy. There were 2 king size beds, dressing table area, a desk and chair and also a seating area. Rooms had a walk in wardrobe and wide screen tv. All rooms had a balcony with sun loungers on and table and chairs. There was a mini bar and safe too. Bathrooms were large with power shower, free tolietries and hairdryer. The rooms were cleaned daily and turned down at 6pm. On out first night we had a box of chocs waiting with a card from the manager which was a nice touch.
The hotel is huge and v spread out so you could be in for a long walk from reception depending on where you are allocated in the hotel. The pool is on the roof and has some fab views over Monte Carlo. You can see right round the bay and up to the Casino. There is also a health club but we didnt have enough time to sample this.
We never ate at the hotel but the prices did look pretty expensive but this is the case I think for all hotels in Monte Carlo. Also as this is such a large hotel it is often used for conferences which was the case when we were there. One night a restaurant was completely booked out just for them.
The location of the hotel is fab. The hotel is located literally on the hair pin bend. Walking left out of the hotel 5 mins and you are at the japonese gardens. 2mins behind the hotel is the famous Casino, Casino Gardens and also Cafe Paris. Just behind Cafe Paris are some lovely restaurants v reasonably priced.
A 10 min walk brings you down to the harbour where there is an abundance of restaurants and cafes. Beware however they seem to close v early for some reason around 5pm. Walk right round the harbour and there is a place called Stars and Bars. It is q simliar to Planet Hollywood but a lot busier. They sell Pizzas, Burgers, Chicken, Steak and is v reasonable. Is open all day and until late at night. A good find :)
From this side of the harbour you can walk up to the Princes Palais (changing of the guards 11.55am), Monte Carlo Cathedral and the Oceanagraphique Musuem.
Overall a good trip, would highly rec it.
Certainly one of 10 things to do in a lifetime!

What a lovely and classy hotel! We just arrived back after a two nights stay and I am searching a space in the calendar for the next! For anyone who is worried, price wise the whole experience is not more expensive than a weekend in London.
The Faimont is certainly a very grand hotel offering endless facilities and situated close to marina, the casino, museum and shopping facilities. The staff is warm, friendly and professional. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable.
After our very welcoming check in the restaurant was unfortunately booked (at low season some restaurants within the hotel are closed and they do advise to pre book before you even fly out) but the concierge was more than helpful which was a good choice for the next evening. For now we had to stay in after all due to me falling victim to a migraine attack! Since our room had a most amazing sea view we decided to sample the room service which was excellent! The food arrived exactly when stated was hot and delicious which also applies to our breakfast the next morning. Not wanting to venture too far that evening we eventually went down to the bar and later on the hotels casino. Again, nothing to be found wrong at all there and we even got a little lucky with a small win.
The second evening we went to a recommended Italian restaurant called Pulcinella which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The waiters are friendly and attentive; food is plentiful and most certainly affordable with an extensive wine list to match your order!!
If you are still trying to decide if Monte Carlo is worth a try then stop right now and book yourself a room in the Fairmont! We will certainly go back in summer to sample the sea. However I can assure that it was lovely and warm at Easter which does reflect the average temperature there from November to May. No problem at all to wear open toes, skirt or t-shirt!
absolutely amazing

Me and my partner had an amazing stay at the Fairmont. We expected it to be good specially for the price but with the new and on going renovations it's no longer stuck in it's 70s time warp and just takes your breath away. We were waited on hand and foot as the staff were so conscientious and attended to our every need, although we did not want for much in our terraced and sea view, with an absolutely huge plush bed in our newly refurbished suite.
After a tough day of sight seeing we ordered room service, but when it came to our surprise it was lke having a mini restaurant in our room. The presentation of the food was impeccable, and was set out on a proper table brought to our room complete with tablecloth, flowers and candles. Having eaten at many of the fabulous restaurants in Monte Carlo the food at the Fairmont certainly doesn't disappoint.
