Hotel De Paris

The Hôtel de Paris is the finest hotel in Monte Carlo. Despite other reviews I have read, I did not find the staff to be rude or pretentious. Quite the contrary actually. I was upgraded to a magnificent suite and found the staff to be most accommodating of my lack of proficiency with regard to their language. They most certainly appreciated the effort though. The lobby is stunning and the lobby bar (Le Bar Américain) offers great views of the sea during the day, and the Casino at night. Accommodations are slightly on the expensive side, but in line with similar accommodations in Europe such as Plaza Athénée in Paris, or even the Ritz or the Plaza in NYC. As Ferris Beuller says " It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend." The location is perfect. It is situated perpendicular to the famed casino, and it is directly across from the Cafe De Paris. A short stroll to the gardens as well as fine shopping.

Be sure to acknowledge the doormen and the other staff with the appropriate formal salutation.

Hotel the Paris is the most famous hotel of Monte Carlo because it's on the Place du Casino and well...right next to the casino. It's a super luxury hotel where you'll cross stars and top models in the sensational lobby or in the hotel restaurant, le Louis XV, one of the 3 Alain Ducasse's restaurants (THE reference of french haute-cuisine).
now...as I had forgotten my black amex card at home I couldn't try either the bed or the Louis XV...maybe next time
