 | Netherlands Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 193 | | Motel Mijdrecht is located approximately 6 kilometers west of A2 motorway, approximately 20 kilometers south of the city of Amsterdam. It is a very cosy motel with free parking facilities away from the bustling city of Amsterdam. The family room can accommodate up to four adults with bathroom/WC attached. There is a small reception in the motel complete with café cum restaurant for you to chill out. Nevertheless the amenities are quite basic! The motel is ideal for budget travellers and overnight motorists travelling across mainland Europe. After a night of stay in Amsterdam down-town, where smallest room you've ever seen you pay the fortune we decided to check what nearby hotels are available. Taking in mind that we had a car (which you had to park in Amsterdam for 40 Euro per night) it was reasonable to try hotels in suburbs. And we found one!!! The one in the resort area in the forest and twice cheaper than in Amsterdam.
Balcony facing the lake, pure silence of the surroundings, wild birds and animals. There are routes for biking who likes to stay but we chose to spend time sightseeing Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Oostbroekerweg 17, 1981 LR Velsen-ZuidDirections: It was a challenge to find the way by choosing the right narrow road in the forest. Just turn right in front of the big hotel on the road and get inside the forest. 1-1.5 km, cross the road under the bridge and soon you will see the hotel in the trees.Other Contact: alexanderru@mail.com

First Class property in my standards. Hotel is situated in the Historic heart of Amsterdam in close proximity to main tourists attractions, museums, theatres, shopping areas and the night life. All within walking distance.
Centrally located. You will find yourself within 1-5kms to the following places there: Anne Frank's House, Flower Market, Rembrandt's Museum, Van Gogh Museum just to mention a few. A nice spacious double bed room, with Philips LCD tv a electronic safe and wardrobes. A spacious bath with bath tub, shower and hand shower facilities. Extremely courteous and helpful staff, all at around 90 E per nite was a fab deal! This included breakfast as well. However do check on the rates as this may have been a corporate deal my husband got by way of working with ING in amsterdam. add tothis a free wireless internet service as well!
Shopping square right behind which has a flea market as well as supermarkets, boutiques, bakers, ATM's etc. Well connected by bus and trams as well. Cheaper if youre travelling on your own. If youre travelling with another or more unless the hostel has a twin or triple room for you then its probably better to compare whats available whereever youre wanting to stay with what hotel or bed and breakfasts are available. Leave a Comment

Arrived in Gouda late on the exact day the youth hostel closed, although its eatery/bar business was still going on. Ended up at a police station asking for advice (the entrance security measures and "clientele" were interesting in their own way). They directed us to a nearby guesthouse, where we were put in a second-floor room, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast of cold meats, cheese, bread, wonderfully strong coffee! Gouda has a pleasant town square and more. I'd like to visit it again. Leave a Comment

Hotel De Lindeboom (The Lime Tree) is located in Den Burg and situated on the Groeneplaats, the square just in the centre of this ‘capital’ of Texel. Therefore a perfect place if you are not on Texel for the beach and the sea and during off season periods. The hotel has a car park (€ 6,- a day) and it also possible to rent bikes at the front desk. De Lindeboom does exist from 1895 and even now it has in my opinion a lot of ‘old charm and hospitality’. Rooms are renovated and do have all modern amenities one can imagine (bathroom, air-conditioning, floor heating, internet access, colour TV and really nice beds). It has a couple of restaurants; we did like most the so called Café Brasserie with a warm interior (a little bit like an English pub), serving tasteful diners. The oldest part of De Lindeboom is Het Schoutenhuys, which dates back to 1611) and is a well known restaurant on Texel (we missed it because it was open from Wednesday till Sunday). The excellent breakfast buffet was a great start of the day. De Lindeboom has a nice sunny terrace and even early February we could drink our cappucino enjoying the sun and watching Texel's streetlife.
The charm and hospitality of a family owned hotel. Perfectly located in the middle of the nice village of Den Burg. It offered very interesting special deals.
