The Appartment where I stayed was just a small nice and well equipt Apartment with very nice, friendly, and hospitable owners. The Appartment is found just 100 meters away from the Beach and 5 minutes walk from the City Center.
The Studio is well furnished. From small Kitchen with all the Kitchenwares: Tea, Coffee Making equipments , Microwave, and Cooking Utensils. Everything you need are completely available. Everything is there Towels and Bed Linens too. The Bed Cushions are very ideal agains Back Pains because they are stable and not too soft(for me it is best for the Spinal Column!)
Breakfast? Well you can do your Breakfast whenever you like. Or Brunch!
I can sleep whenever I like and the area is very quit because it is not the area where regular Vehicles pass bye. The Appartment ist just few meters away from the hilly Dunes where you can go walking or strolling besides the Beach. Many go bicycling at the Dunes too.
The Studio Appartment is generally a non-smoker zone Appt.; priceless parking in a short distant Parking Area; with Heater; a Gay friendly Appartment, Free Internet and wireless WLAN inclusive, Fax and Copie posibilities.

Every now and then we get a newsletter from Hotel Wesseling with often very interesting deals. At last we decided to take a short break and made a reservation in their hotel in Dwingeloo. (December 2011: we paid € 75,- p.p. for a two nights stay, including breakfast and one three course meal).
Hotel Wesseling is a real family hotel - managed for many years by the same family - with a lot of charm and cosiness, still offering rooms with modern comfort. Staff was from check-in till check-out very friendly and helpful.
The hotel has quite a large restaurant (De Juffer van Batinghe) with a view of the Brink. We had our diners in the café, which we liked more. This café has also a sun lounge with great views of the famous St. Nicolaas Church with its onion shaped tower. The café has a nice reading table with a couple of papers and a lot of magazines (I think they were all Dutch).
Food was excellent: first night we had a three course menu and opted for a grilled salmon as main course; the second night we had a ‘highly spiced spaghetti Bolognese’.
Breakfast is buffet style and was very extensive with a variety of bread, every filling you can imagine, yoghurt, fruit, coffee/tea and juices.
Our room (nr.25) was not too spacious, but comfortable enough for a couple of nights. It had a seating area, a flat screen TV and a nice bathroom with shower, toilet and all amenities. Bed was comfortable and we slept very well.
Hotel Wesseling has a great location: in the centre of Dwingeloo at the famous Brink (village green) and next to the church (yes, every half hour the bells are ringing, but we didn’t mind at all). Dwingeloo is more or less situated in the heart of Drenthe and therefore an ideal base for exploring the province.
We were very satisfied with our stay, in spite of the bad weather we had. For sure we will go back in another season.
!!Be aware: the hotel has an annex - Hotel De Brink - in a building just across the road !!
Its charm of a real family hotel.

Before we went to Amsterdam, we had heard a lot of great things about this hotel and we had looked it up on the Net. It seemed like a wonderful 5-star hotel which is, actually. The decoration was splendid, everyone was helpful and ready to serve your every need. The restaurant was fantastic and there are many facilities for tourists. However, our room lacked a few basic things. For example, there were no pairs of slippers for us to use after our shower. For a 5-star hotel, this is unacceptable. We have stayed in many hotels so we know that providing slippers for your customers is not even considered to be a luxury. Moreover, we accidentally spilled coffee on the sheets in the morning so we asked for the cleaning lady to clean our room. However, at night we were surprised to notice that our dirty sheets were still dirty. Last but not least, there was a problem with the water in the shower. While taking our shower, it kept turning ice cold from hot and then from cold it turned to boiling hot. We think it had to do with the fact that various customers in the hotel might have been taking their shower at the same time, still, this is not a problem that we should have had to face, considering how much money we spent on that room. A 5-star hotel should not even have to face these problems. One last thing, paying more than 20Euros for a late check-out is unheard of as well as paying more than 40Euros to upgrade your room, not even for a suite. All the above-mentioned made the hotel a bit overrated.
The restaurant was wonderful.

If you need a hotel near Schiphol, this hotel should be taken into consideration.
Nice food and free shuttle service.

This is a nice hotel with lovely bedrooms with view on the canal.I didnt eat the breakfast but its includet in the price.Very central and i like it for that.

My mother was born in Schagen and after reading an advertisement in our local paper, we decided for a short break to this little town in the province of North Holland. We ended up booking another -more expensive package (Culinary Castle Arrangement) - than was offered in the paper.
We had to travel by train, which was quite convenient because the hotel is located at the central square of the town, on walking distance (max. 10 minutes). Be aware the hotel doesn’t have a private parking place, so if travelling by car you will have to find a public parking area.
Located in the center of town means shops (included a remarkable large shopping mall), bars and restaurants are very close.
The hotel exists of two buildings: the main building with the reception, restaurant, café/bar and the standard rooms; luxury rooms are located in Slot (Castle) Schagen. Our arrangement included one of these ‘castle’ rooms. To be honest we couldn’t discover a lot of luxury (except the bath in our bathroom) in our room and it looked as an average ‘Best Western’ room. Everything was clean and had the normal amenities, although we personally were not really happy with the box spring mattress.
The castle is situated behind the main building, which means you have to walk outside about 100 meters, which can be inconvenient with bad weather.
There was one three course diner included in our package, which we had in the hotel restaurant ‘De Gastheer’. The food was good, although for the main course we had only a choice between two kinds of (only) meat.
Breakfast is also served in the main building and is buffet style; it offers a variety of bread, fillings, yoghurt, tea, coffee and juices. Just a pity the bread, as well as the fruit, was not too fresh.
All together we are slightly disappointed (not about our trip) and feel we did pay too much for our stay in this average hotel.

Although not a real B&B, I think it is more a small guesthouse, it was a great experience staying a couple of nights in A gen Kirk. We found it on the internet and after reading a lot of very good (Dutch) reviews we made our reservation. Because it was almost a last minute booking we got a discount on the room price.
The B&B is part of the ‘bike and ride café’ and that is exactly what people are doing in this part of the country.
The four rooms are located in a separate building behind the café and a small patio. The rooms do have different themes like a ‘hunter room – with some not to well stuffed animals – a ‘royal room’, a Mary Servaas room’ with a lot of knick knacks and a ‘Marilyn Monroe room’.
Due to a mistake with our reservation we did sleep in two different rooms – Hunter and Mary Servaas: one on the ground floor and the other night on a room on the first floor (accessible by rather steep stairs). Both were spacious; the one on the ground floor a little more, but the other one has an own little balcony with two chairs and a table. Rooms are basic, with a TV and fan, but are clean and could use a little bit more light in the evening, when one wants to read a book. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, soap and four towels. Beds were comfortable.
From 8.30 am in the morning an excellent breakfast was waiting for us in the café. This is a very remarkable room with its more than 100 images of saints, bibles, holy crosses and other ‘holy stuff’. Your breakfast looks really like a 'holy breakfast'.
