    Hotel Wesseling on the Brink

We spent one night here, on 4 February 2012. We had our dinner with friends somewhere else, so we actually just slept here and didn't do a great deal else. Good clean room though, with a nice box-spring bed, TV and a modern bathroom. Breakfast buffet.

    real family hotel

Every now and then we get a newsletter from Hotel Wesseling with often very interesting deals. At last we decided to take a short break and made a reservation in their hotel in Dwingeloo. (December 2011: we paid € 75,- p.p. for a two nights stay, including breakfast and one three course meal).

Hotel Wesseling is a real family hotel - managed for many years by the same family - with a lot of charm and cosiness, still offering rooms with modern comfort. Staff was from check-in till check-out very friendly and helpful.

The hotel has quite a large restaurant (De Juffer van Batinghe) with a view of the Brink. We had our diners in the café, which we liked more. This café has also a sun lounge with great views of the famous St. Nicolaas Church with its onion shaped tower. The café has a nice reading table with a couple of papers and a lot of magazines (I think they were all Dutch).
Food was excellent: first night we had a three course menu and opted for a grilled salmon as main course; the second night we had a ‘highly spiced spaghetti Bolognese’.
Breakfast is buffet style and was very extensive with a variety of bread, every filling you can imagine, yoghurt, fruit, coffee/tea and juices.

Our room (nr.25) was not too spacious, but comfortable enough for a couple of nights. It had a seating area, a flat screen TV and a nice bathroom with shower, toilet and all amenities. Bed was comfortable and we slept very well.

Hotel Wesseling has a great location: in the centre of Dwingeloo at the famous Brink (village green) and next to the church (yes, every half hour the bells are ringing, but we didn’t mind at all).

We were very satisfied with our stay, in spite of the bad weather we had. For sure we will go back in another season.

!!Be aware: the hotel has an annex - Hotel De Brink - in a building just across the road !!

Unique Quality: Hotel Wesseling has the charm of a real family hotel.

Directions: In the middle of Dwingeloo at the Brink.
