Not sure how to spell the town name but it is only a 45 min. bus ride from drachten.
It is a riverfront and is a bit larger than drachten.
It is a bit more modern but still offers the quaintness that most dutch cities tend to offer.
The bus station in drachten is right off the main road that runs along the town center, there is a conveninet table of bus arrivals and departures for several easy day trips.
When I first set my foot on Drachten I was realy nervous because it wasn't a vacation trip but my first "contact" as an engineer!!
6 Greeks, 6 Dutch, 6 English (5 English, 1 Irish to be more exact), 6 Spanish, 6 French in 1 project " Da Hrachten van Drachten"
At the end was one of the most beautiful & exciting experiences I've ever had.
Plus this was the time to meet a soul mate, my friend for life Paul!!
Classical Dutch nature! Canals, loads of green, quiet, no nightlife, great people excellent beer!!
