Heerenveen transportation?

Hello!

How can I travel from Heerenveen to Maastricht? I'm planning on going for a day in Heerenveen and I can't leave earlier than 11:00 pm, but I do need to be in Maastricht next morning by 8:00 am
Can anyone have an ideea? I understand that the train is not working after 10:30 pm.

Hi,

It is simply not possible.
No train can take you there after 11 pm.
And the earliest possibility in the morning does not get you there before 8 am.

It is possible but it is a horrendous journey.
Take the last train from Heerenveen at 22.57 hrs to Utrecht Central to arrive there at 01.13 hrs.
Then leave from Utrecht at 05.25 hrs and arrive in Maastricht at 08.03 hrs.

That's the closest you can get on a weekday.
In the weekend the route and schedule is the same, however you will leave Utrecht a bit later and arrive in Maastricht at 08.48 hrs.

Heerenveen is the town in which I live - actually, it is a village and has never earned city-rights within the Netherlands. When you travel by train you might be impressed by the size of this village in the north of the Netherlands, but in fact it is shaped kind of like a long sausage and the railways had the grand idea of building their tracks from south to north throughout the length of Heerenveen... crossing it from west to east will take you approx. 15 min by foot which might give you the right impression of its size.
