For the kinda trip we were involved in (First time cycling trip adventure!) the best accommodation seemed to be camp grounds. I had a folder with me with all kind of adresses of campings and hotels for emergency situations since the Australian mate was just 18 years old and I had promissed her host parents that I will take good care of her.
Finding the camp site was easy, it was a few kilometers to the East from West-Terschelling. There is actually many of them in a row. We just took the first we saw since it was 11 pm then and we were not looking forward to putting up a tent in dark.
An ordinar camp ground with facilities of less quality than what we saw later (taking into account that that was the first camp ground we had ever seen in the Netherlands). However, the price was accordingly low and we realized later that it was a camp ground for young people, even teenagers which meant a lot of noise till late in the night.
Showers and toilets were ok, laundry room as well, however, there was no place where to sit - a cafe or any other room. Thus, if it rains and you are not able to sit outside, you have to sleep or sit in your tent.
Pleasant hotel with very friendly hosts. The rooms have recently been redecorated.
Its possible to have dinner at the hotel, you will have to make reservations.
I would not advise this hotel in summer because the beach is a bit far away. And also not for a longer stay because your biking routes are a bit limited from this point but a short break its perfect.
For the boat lovers, the marina is a 2 min walk.
Its best feature is its location in the pre and after season. Its closely situated to West Terschelling so you can go there easily for dinner and such.
On Terschelling you have a wide range of accomodation, from first class hotels till campings, there is a wide range of appartments, campings, hotels, youth hostels, farmstay, farmyard campstay etc. For info abouth that please try to look on the website from the tourist info the VVV of Terschelling.
