Millingen

The Millingerwaard, a nature reserve, is one of our favourite spots. We go there from time to time for a short walk ; on most occasions we end up in the tea garden.
Some of my ancestors were born in or near the town of Millingen. One of them was a ferry man, called Hendrikus Reymers (1750-1843).

Waal beach - it reminds me of the sparsely populated islands in the Dutch game show 'Expedition Robinson' (you may guess from the title what that show is about ...). Of course, beaches such as this one are scarce in our densely populated country.
Enclosure in the Millingen Tea Garden. Entrance to the garden is four euro (one consumption included).
