If you are looking for a 4 star hotel accommodation in one of the quiet but beautiful ancient woodlands close to Nijmegen I advise you to go to the Golden Tulip Hotel Val- Monte. I know that I?m doing my internship at this chain and that I?m slightly subjective when we are talking about hotels. But the view from the hotel terrace is amazing you can see Ooy and Duffelt polders 90 meters lower down!
This hotel has a distinct classic modern feel. French cuisine is served in the 'A La Carte' restaurant where the menu changes seasonally. There is a terrace, bar/foyer, indoor pool, recreation room and an arboretum. Bicycles are available for hire, an ideal way to explore what this area has to offer. Donderdag 14 juni PLASMOLEN - Hotel De Plasmolen in het gelijknamige dorp vlakbij Nijmegen is donderdagmorgen voor de derde maal in zijn bestaan verwoest. Eind jaren twintig ging het vermaarde hotel al eens in vlammen op. In 1944 stond het gebouw middenin het slagveld van de operatie Market Garden en bleef er slechts een ruïne over. Nu heeft een zeer grote brand opnieuw het schitterende pand grotendeels verwoest.
