No village too small for a school
Otterlo has a few hundred inhabitants (though in summertime it suddenly become over a few thousands when all the campgrounds are filling up with tourists that enjoy the natural surroundings of the village). No village however is too small to lack a school. An elementary-school that is, as the children that are older then twelf often have the trouble to find progressive schools in relative far away places. Biking (or going by bus) over distances of over twenty kilometres is not an exception.
Laws of nature, guidance for us all
Laws of nature are hard, but justified. The moving sands are an extreme example, but as well interesting. The sand takes and gives back (sometimes after hundreds of years). The amazing battle that some plants make to gain a fixed place on the ground and then loose it as it gets blown away under their roots is dramatic, but leaves often a great spectacle for human eyes.
Dutch museum of tiles
Even not many Dutch have heard of it, but Otterlo also has it's own museum. It's a museum that is dedicated to Dutch tiles, varieting from very old ones with traditional paintings, to awkward modern ones. Often the museum is discovered by people that want to do something dry, during rainy summers on a camping.

"National park The hoge Veluwe"
Otterlo possesses one of the three entrances of the national park "De Hoge Veluwe", which is definately one of the highlights within The Netherlands.
You can find the other two entrances at Hoenderloo and Schaarsbergen.
The Hoge Veluwe National Park and the Kroller-Muller Museum offer an unique combination of nature, art and architecture. The perfect place to enjoy peace and quiet and changing landscapes, a world-famous art collection and interesting architecture.
This remarkable spot was founded by Anton Kroller and his wife, Helene Kroller-Muller.
The Kroller-Muller museum collection centres on the work of Vincent van Gogh, constituting one of the most impressive overviews of his extensive oeuvre.
The collection also contains important paintings by great artists including Geore Seurat, Pablo Picasso, Fernand Leger and Piet Mondriaan.
The museum exhibits a range of the visual arts and hosts temporary exhibitions.
