Good and cheap place, it has got 86 beds, divided over three dormitories and ten private rooms. The rooms all got a little tv ,some are decorated nice and cute with a theme (Butterfly room,Tarzan room,Angel Room) Others nice and stylish.
Two of the three dormitories are mixed, one is for women only (except on very crowded weekends) Possibility to rent a locker for €10 deposit,do laundry and drying for €4,50, internet available.
If you check in before 02.00 hours you can come in all night. You can pay in cash or with a Dutch bank card (PIN pas). It is not possible to pay with credit card or any foreign bank card
There’s no curfew,check out at 12.00.
The Simplon Youth hotel is situated on the edge of the city centre. A five minutes walk leads you to the 'Grote Markt', the lively centre of town. The public transport has excellent services to bring you on the outskirts of town or out of town.
The hotel does not have its own parking space. You can park your car on the Boterdiep (you have to pay for this), or in a parking garage, about 200 m from the hotel.

We're open on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Directions: You can take buslines 1 and 11 from Central Station or City Centre and get out on Boterdiep. Walking distance from City Centre is about 5 minutes, from Central Station about 20 minutes.

It's not far from the city centre. You can walk everywhere and there's so much to do. The people there are cool and we had the best rest ever after hectic Amsterdam. If you get Room K (double-room, about 48 euros), you will be transported back to your childhood days with the room's Tarzan motifs! It's jungle-like coolness and modern coziness gave us the best sleep we ever had backpacking. The dorms are not bad either!

Unique Quality: It was a paint factory. You can rent bicycles from the front desk and explore Groningen's beautiful canal houseboats. The breakfast is cheap and nice and they have a spacious, quiet and relaxed common room. It's kind of homely in a way. Very safe and clean.

Directions: Take bus 11 from train station or walk for 20-30 minutes passing the city centre and famous Martini church.

Nice, slightly quirky (why did my room have two felt crowns in it?) and not just for "youth." Private rooms available for old, picky married people like me. For breakfast, get the real Dutch chocolate-sprinkles-on-bread experience!

Unique Quality: This hostel provides for many beds. This is handy when you come to Groningen with a large group.
