Arcen has wonderful spa baths which are very popular.
The water comes from 892 metres deep and contains fluoride, sulphite and jodium. It has a special quality and is very relaxing and useful in a therapeutic way.
There are 4 outside pools and one inside pool. There are sauna's (mixed), a beauty center, physiofitness for healthy excercise. Bathing suit, slippers, towel.
The website has various interesting offers, so check those out.
Entry for 2,5 hrs is € 10 and for 4 hrs is € 15..
Spa Arcen

Unfortunately I could not make pictures inside the place but I enjoyed myself immensely. The pools all have special features for massage or just floating around. It was fun to be in the outside pool while it rained heavily.
We had reserved a programme and were welcomed with coffee and cake while everything was explained. Then we spent 4 hours in the pools, steambaths, sauna's and bubble baths and were offered lunch. After that we lay on some vulcanic mud and then had our backs massaged. The mineral water may irritate your skin a little so take a good cream and use it afterwards.
I also took a scrub glove because all that water and steam makes your skin soft enough for a good scrub.
I felt wonderful after this "beauty day".

Arcen - quiet, great food, great hot baths

"Asparagus soup and Thermal Baths"
A quiet town by the Maas River. North of Maastricht, a few kilometers up from Venlo. Friendly people. Wonderful food. Good place to bike and walk. Outstanding for natural thermal baths about a kilometer down the road... six giant pools, three indoor, three outdoor.
"The rhythm of the Maas"
Pleasant outdoor bistros overlook the Maas River, it's quiet traffic, it's silent ever moving form.
"Shops on a quiet Sunday afternoon"
IArcen is quaint and friendly. A mile of so from the German border.
Almost no Americans come here to visit. Since I speak a bit of Dutch, I was felt to be an extreme exception, a native english speaker, an American, who could actually speak some nederlands!
