cheap

This hotel has 20 rooms. It is a hotel, cheap, to have mixed feeling about. Some call the hotel too noisy since it is located at the marketsqure you hear the loud noises from outside. Others find it ok, and enjoy also the cozy brown café brasserie Thijs Uilenspiegel wich is located under the hotel. La Colombe means piguon in french, reffering to the fact that this buiding once housed the largest pigeons socity in town. At eveings you can start your nightlife at the brassery again since it is open as a pub till 2 am

Nice overnight option

My wife and I got into Maastricht late on a Wednesday evening and we begin the task of searching for a place to stay the night.I knew that we would need a rtoom for only 1 night and we would stay at a Bed and Breakfast the remainder of the trip.We checked several places and the prices seemed a bit high. Finally I spotted La Colombe and we were set for the night. The rooms are somewhat hard to get to because they have the typical Dutch stairways which are very steep and narrow. The rooms themselves were modest but very nicely decorated and just what we needed.I should also mention that the cafe downstairs is a great place to eat and drink.Try the all-you-can-eat grilled ribs and a beer or 10.

Unique Quality: La Colombe is located right in the middle of Marlet Square.Very easy to find if you have been out all night drinking beer and you lose your way.The hotel stay includes free breakfast from 7:00-9:00.The folks in the cafe knew we had just gotten into town and it had been a very long day for us and they allowed us to sleep in a little late and catch a late breakfast.I thought that this was a very nice gesture.

The cheapest & the best

This small 2* hotel enjoys a perfect central location. But not everyone notices that it's a hotel, coz on the ground floor they have a rather popular bar, where breakfast is served in the mornings for hotel guests.
On weekends or holidays the bar gets sooo croweded, that it takes all you efforts to get thru a bunch of drunken, singing and dancing locals :))))
