Well, the next day you can thank Him at the Onze Lieve Vrouwenbasilica, which is located right next to the square. This basilica is also known as 'stella maris.'
It's a church, build in the 11 th. century, that is unique for it has been a church (partly) build in the art of fortification. During several ages it has been extended and rebuild. It has some parts that are build in roman style, and parts that are Gothic. The most intersting thing, however, is it's interior, that radiates a serene, severe atmosphere. It's interior and decorations are not as frivolous, as in the St. Servaas-balicia, but it's just thàt homeliness that gives the church a special cachet.
