    Free shuttle bus to maastricht centrum
    (no shuttel back !!!!!!! ) you get a special taxi rate back . Or you can walk ( 15 min)

    It's great to see and witness that the hotel has a heated outdoor swimming pool, which you can use without extra charge. Besides that there is a magnificent garden terrace for a nice and relaxing cold drink in the late afternoon. We did like the newly renovated rooms, it's spacy and has some modern furniture. Yhe staff was very polite and we felt important. In our opinion it's better to have two chairs in a room instead of one, but that still didn't cause us any serious inconveniences. And, probably, cups in the room were good for coffee, but too small for tea.

    But ... the bar service is really no service at all. The person who supposed to be there, attending bar was continuously leaving his area and wasn't were he was supposed to be. As to providing any munchies, you know peanuts or something, not unless you specifically asked for something...basically no desire to please and it took us over 15 minutes before we had our cold drinks, so no tip.

    Free shuttle service to the city centre (do notice that you will have to arrange a taxi drive back!) and MECC (exhibition centre) and 300 m2 of meeting facilities. Ideally located in Maastricht, provincial capital of Limburg and city of the European Community, with direct connections to Maastricht Airport and other capitals.

    Novotel Maastricht is ideally situated along the highway A2 and just outside the citycentre. It is a stylish four star hotel, with a wide range of services. The hotel has about 90 rooms, a cosy bar and a comfortable restaurant with French Cuisine. Like we said the hotel is not central to Maastricht but is convenient for the Exhibition and Conference Centre. The hotel makes up for its location by providing a shuttle service to the town centre and the conference facilities. The shuttle does have a timetable but we found that they will in fact take you anywhere anytime. Return trips from the town centre benefit from a cut price taxi service on production of the Novotel voucher.

    The hotel is well appointed and very comfortable. Public areas are spacious and the restaurant facilities are good with a varied and well thought out dinner menu. Food is available in the bar throughout the day. Our bedroom was large with bathroom and toilet in two further rooms. It was clean and pleasantly decorated. A queen size bed and sofa were good points from which to view the forty five channels of TV available in various languages. As is often the case staff make or break a hotel and in this case they could not, without exception, be faulted. They achieved exactly the right balance between friendliness and professionalism.
