Old splendor
Once a rich building, you can see the remains of it. But walking up the stairs you feel like the stair could collapse under you. The rooms are decorated in a style long gone. But our room was spacious and for Valkenburg standards we couldn't hear much noise from outside or other rooms. The bathroom was very nice. A shower and seperate bath, which means no climbing in the bathtub to have a quick shower, a defenite plus !
We stayed here during one of the busiest weekends in Valkenburg ( the Ascencion's day weekend), and that was noticable in the service. They came to clean our room at 4 in the afternoon. And when leaving they had a meal on our bill, we didn't have. This was settled very quickly and neatly though.
Breakfast was buffetstyle, not very special, but there was bacon and eggs.
Parking costs 1 Euro to get of the parkinglot, everytime you want to get off.
Unique Quality: There is a waterboiler in the room. On arrival you will get teabags and instant coffee as a welcomegift.
Our verdict:
The quiet room (no streetnoise) and the bathroom were pluspoints. We would book again, but we still haven't found the absolute best hotel in Valkenburg.
