Nice and cosy hotel at walking distance from city.
We booked a 2 nights stay in this hotel. The part of teh hotel where we stayed was a little bit old and had that grandparents smell.
The room was nice, good boxspring beds and a nig bathroom with big bathtub.
There was a lovely lady that was very friendly and helped us accurate.
The hotel lies close to the train-station, which is very handy, but you'll hear trains all day (and night) long!
You can go walking to the centre, but it's a 15 minutes walk (it's a nice walk!).
The breakfast is good and there are many choices in bread, eggs, sandwich fillings and drinks.
Unique Quality: We really liked the fact that you can park you're car for free. It's close to the trainstation and you can walk to the city centre.
The staff was really helpfull and friendly.
It was a good price compared to other hotels (much more expensive!).
Very cosy sitting rooms with chimney's and closets with games to use.
So if you're not looking for a luxurious spot, but a cosy, reasonably priced hotel in Valkenburg, this is the one!!!

Fletcher Hotel Valkenburg
We stayed here during the busy weekend of the Amstel Gold Race. We had never been in Valkenburg before, so all we looked for was a hotel in a quiet location that wasn't too expensive. The location was OK, be it a little far from the town centre. It could have been quiet if the other guests would have been quiet! Well, you don't have any control on those things.
Unique Quality: The lobby was nice, so was the breakfast room/restaurant (and the breakfast was good and plentyful).
Our (standard) room was very small, with hardly any space between the bed and the wall at one side, and the window at the other side.
The bathroom (what's in a name?!) had a shower in one corner (with a curtain), a small wash basin in the other corner and a toilet in corner no. 3. It was really very very tiny!
In my opinion the rooms need to be remodeled, as they looked quite worn out (ours at least).
Staff were very friendly.

Not very large rooms
The weekend of the Amstel Gold Race is always busy in Valkenburg and we were looking for a hotel with low prices and a place to park. The Fletcher Hotel Valkenburg was not expensive, but when we arrived we knew why. The rooms were really small and it was very noisy! The day before Tom had to cycle the 150km tour we went to bed at a normal time (just before midnight), but we were not sleeping for hours. The train passing very close, the others guests arriving home (untill 3:30) and then the wake up call at 6:30. Not a very good preparation for the tour.......
The breakfast was good tough, they started early (6:30 instead of 8:00) because of the many cyclist who wanted to have an early start.
Our verdict:
When you are looking for cheap place to stay and friendly management, this is the place to be. When you want a quiet night look further!
